Because of Kid's posting, I just saw the original posting in the Sox forum. Wimpy actually seems to be a better fit with Hawk IMO, not because he's better than Stone as an analyst, but because the personalities work better. Stone may be the best color guy in the business, but the chemistry between him and Hawk is awful. But in any case, the joke wasn't funny and the thread was just stupid.

What are your thoughts on the bad year Jeff Shark is having? I mean, he was shut down earlier than Chris Sale, so his numbers should be better than Sale right? So why is it the other way around?

I think rest/abuse has nothing to do with his season. He is about as inconsistent as anyone. For that reason, as well as his age, I was hoping some dumb GM desperate for a starter, might trade for him. I would not mind seeing him traded at all. He is unable to command his pitches far too often and at 28, I don't see him blossoming into an ace, as some do. When he gets in trouble, he just tries to throw harder, loses more command and leaves pitches out over the plate or walks batters. He's kinda like Zambrano in that respect. Like Zambrano, I could see Samardzjia throwing a no-hitter. But I could also see him losing more games than he wins in several seasons. I'm just glad they didn't sign him to a long term deal.

You didn't answer my question at all. Sale went the full season last year and he's pitching better than Shark. Lots better. You said Sale would tail off, and he really hasn't, while Shark has completely fallen apart despite being shut down early.

Why is that?
