Well, on the one hand, fantasy sports is stupid shit. He's right about that.

On the other hand, having said that, I would not host a fantasy football show.

Nomination supported.

sorry for bumping this again...this happened days ago but i kept forgetting to post about it.

he was talking about rich gannon and challenged that he was an MVP. "He wasn't even MVP, he was only the offensive player of the year". No, Hub, he was the MVP. You ran a football magazine, yeah?

Keep on spinning "Teenage Wasteland".

That's just embarrassing. It's not like it was that long ago, it was 2002. And, as you said, he ran a goddamn pro football magazine. They probably at least had a blurb about it.

Not only was he MVP, but it was a HUGE story, because he went from Average to Great.

And its been mentioned a million times since Trestman was hired because of the connection.

Hub is not good at knowing about football

He's a smooth talker though who runs a professional radio show

I don't mind Hub, but I find it amusing that he seemed to shut down his company, and presumably the debt that it had, and then created a site that is almost the exact same thing, and he continues to work with the same business relationships that his previous company had.

If I was a creditor, it probably wouldn't be so amusing.

Besides the name, and a lack of a paper version which is quite common with magazines now, what is the difference between the old company and the new company?

Hub didn't start it, though. It seems to be under the auspices of Shaw Suburban Media. I suppose any creditors would have to take it up with them for hiring Hub to do more or less what Hub did at PFW.

In other words, it's not his site, but he's on that site, bringing us delightfully full circle.

it was a great story. great year for the raiders, it's a shame they're remembered as being run through in the super bowl. they were fun that year. and gannon, coming from a small school (blue hens!) and being a journeyman before that...it was really cool to see.

It's his neo-luddism. Probably wrote the news down on the back of his hand and mistranscribed it while snail mailing his column to the PFW office.

He does this shit CONSTANTLY. He also contradicts himself a ton, during the same show, during the same segment. His overall football knowledge - not even IQ or comprehension - is just terrible. He doesn't seem to know the NFL teams' roster are that well. Tons of mistakes. He then gets thrown on this fantasy football show. I heard 15 minutes of it. He doesn't even grasp the concept of fantasy football and how it doesn't completely translate from the field to which players are best at fantasy. He was just horrible in the segment I heard. Adam Harris would do far better than him being the person dishing out the actual fantasy football knowledge.

In regards to his magazine, I don't feel bad for him. I think he has a huge ego. He didn't embrace the constant changing business model of how to sell content and information. He made poor decisions. He borrowed money he shouldn't have. In all honestly, I'm not even for sure he's a decent guy. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and hoping for a free bailout at some point. Didn't happen.

Yeah, Rice, Brown and Porter was a great trio

My buddies uncle coached them. Maybe the worst coaching job in American Sports History in the Super Bowl (Not changing the calls enough and Gruden figured them out)

Today, the great Hub, alleged NFL expert, didn't know if an onside kick to start OT counts as a possession for the receiving team. YES, it counts as a possession for the receiving team. Anybody with any sense should know this. A FG wins the game at that point.

Somebody like Hub should know that. The "I don't know" is embarrassing for the Score's football expert.

The rule is each team has an opportunity to posses the ball once unless a TD is scored on the first possesion. If you lose the onside kick, you blew your opportunity.
