This usually is a good pairing.

Kid stories aplenty.

BMarsh talk goes off the deep end.

Hoping for the best.

I like Rozner. He's one of the few guys that will call Bernstein out on his bullshit. I'll give it a try.

  Didn't see that Family guy episode, but it is so true. And I am so guilty of doing it too.

Last season, didn't Dan not care about Brandon Marshall's past issues because all he wants from his pro athletes is for them to be big, blaque studs who wang whip the competition? Just catch the ball, right?

Dan has never seen The Wire or Breaking Bad. He doesn't have time for such pedestrian nonsense when he has such important work to do -- trying to reply to Steve Alford's tweets and finding new churches for people who don't hate gays to attend.

It could be worth tuning in if they don't spend most of the show kvetching about Marshall.

CTE talk will be on full display when Lomas Brown joins the show.

Also, Coop will be on to talk about pitching injuries, no WSOX talk supposedly.

Thus endeth the SHARKlike updates.

Come on Coop. At least let him get his question out. You totally missed what he was trying to ask you.

Yeah, I'd never heard that. That's on the nose. Too on the nose.

Cooper is a typical New York prick. Fuck this jagoff. He has a track record of being an asshole in interviews.

He seems like a really hard person to have a conversation with. I don't know why he's been a regular on the station for so long. Well, I guess they do carry the games, so that probably explains it. He also seems very impatient and having to talk to Mulligan must make him crazy. He doesn't seem interested in listening to Bernstein's full question before answering.

He brings nothing to any show. He was a red ass years ago, he is a red ass now. He runs defense, he's never wrong and he's an ass....kinda like bernSTINE.

And everyone of his interviews is exactly the same. But at the "Home of the White Sox" you need "Sox Guys" and members of "Sox Guys" to prove that you're the place to be for the White Sox. Except that no one ever talks about the White Sox.

beni listens so you don’t have to…all about #15

- ZZ discusses BMarsh tweets. Relax relax. ZZ “We caught him in a bad moment”. Lordy can ZZ cover the Bears tushy.
- ZZ questions the strategy the Bears took in practicing in pads so much during preseason. Interesting.
- Berns asks if ZZ knows why he was excused. ZZ quietly states “no”.
- More ZZ: This is the 3rd time BMarsh has had surgery on the hip. He has bounced back each time. “BMarsh knows BMarsh’s body better than most”
- More Berns derision believing that something isn’t right. ZZ fires back that BMarsh just tweeted he would be ready for the opener. Incredible dialogue here people. Incredible.
- ZZ points out #90 hasn’t played much either. That’s a stretch there ZZ. Quite a comparison.
- ZZ believes BMarsh will be a factor from game 1.

Nugget only. Melton was on practice field and wearing a helmet. Not cleared, but should get cleared on Monday. Bennett close as well.

Dan's fear of making picks is weird.

"Nobody cares. It's pointless, it doesn't accomplish anything."

Everything you do on a sports talk show is pointless and doesn't accomplishes anything. How is that any less pointless than anything else that goes on during the course of a show?

Dan started to say all college football fans are idiot gomers but caught himself and said "except for Northwestern fans." I guess he remembered at the last second that they're a sponsor.

Wouldn't Northwestern fans be the biggest idiot gomers of all since they root for a team that in all likelihood cannot win a championship?

Makes sense.

I don't remember if it was last year or the year before, but in the midst of his usual "college sports/football is stupid" talk he glowingly recounted the trip he and his family took to a Northwestern game the previous Saturday night. Everyone at NU was fantastic and his kid got to go on the field and Coachy Coacherson gave him a jersey. It was practically Teinowitzian.

I thought the Score now carried U of I's game. Doesn't that go into effect this year, or is it next?

Doesn't NU advertise on the station and/or sponsor something? "The Northwestern Text Screen" or something like that?

They do, but I thought Illinois was coming into play as well.

You know, I don't begrudge the guy the perks of his job. We all know different people and get to cut to the front somewhere. What bothers me about dan is that he doesn't seem to recognize that his experience isn't the regular experience that most people have. It would be like me crowing about how great Spy Bar is when George walked me inside with a dozen hot chicks and an eightball while you're standing seventeen deep in the fucking alley.

I don't begrudge him the perks of the job, either, but don't tell me how awful college sports are, how all the fans are gomers, etc.,...eeeexcept for the school that gives him free stuff.

Don't crap me now, no, no, no.

I'm still not sure why someone who claims to hate college football has a Heisman vote or would even want to use it.

He hates hockey too, but he'll take free stuff for his kid from the Hawks and talk about what a great experience it is.

I despise Cooper at anything beyond the playing field. I don't know why these reporters don't tell him off when he starts one of his New York tough guy rants. You know where to put your fingers on a ball to make it move the best. The only two jobs that qualifies you for are pitching coach and porn star, otherwise you offer nothing of value to the world.

This whole Marshall thing is a non story. Jay will throw him the ball 10 times in week 1, he will catch 7 and everything will be fine.

Correct. And we will about it until Friday morning after the final pre season game.
