Not surprising.

They probably want the gun debate to tone itself down a little before they release a game that allows people to go on killing sprees.

Three new trailers released today, each focused on one of the three main characters...

I'm liking Michael...not sure if I care for Franklin's story very much...

...Trevor looks absolutely insane and I love it.

I'm not a bigfan (scot) of the "relationships" part of GTA...
Dude I just wanna carjack people and kill hookers. I'm not trying to build friendships.

A lot of all three seemed influenced by reality TV. Hell...the trailers could have been commercial advertisements FOR reality TV programs.

I'd watch a show about Trevor...

I vaguely remember you not liking one of the previous entries but I can't remember which one(s)...everything I've seen looks good so far...

I think they are doing away with the "hey Niko, lets go for some drinks" random calls that IV was plagued with...time spent with other characters will be used to set up missions.

Pretty sure IB hated (or strongly disliked) SA for the RPG stuff.

Ok, that sounds familiar...

...yeah, I wouldn't worry about that...the only little bit of that which remained in IV was being able to change clothing...otherwise it was gone and I don't see any reason they'd bring it back for V.

Radio Gaga is no slouch either.

Picked up VC on steam this weekend. Worth 2.75 or whatever it was just for the radio stations.

Indeed...

...might be the best use of licensed music ever.

I still have my SA box with a "lifetime replacement" receipt from Gamestop. I should take it back and see what they do with it.

I've been playing Saints Row 2 and it's everything I would want in GTA 5. If they can do that, then awesome.

No having to eat, no relationship bullshit.

I don't mind that. In fact, I like character customization.

San Andreas absolutely broke me. I haven't played one since then so maybe they've gotten better about that stuff. If they have then I'm stoked for this one.

Uh-oh
Quote:
Outside of missions, players can swap between the characters at any time. Hitting the D-pad brings up the selection menu and also a range of stats: each member of the trio has ratings for elements such as stealth, shooting, stamina, driving and, yep, lung capacity, and all of these gradually improve as the character employs them – a system reminiscent of San Andreas. They all also have one special ability, which can be instigated for limited periods of time. When Franklin's in a vehicle, he can slow down time to get sharper handling, perhaps to avoid a police stinger or navigate through a road block. Trevor can double his weapon damage for brief bursts of hyper-violence, halving the damage he takes in the process. And Michael, who already resembles a slightly older, more puffy Max Payne, gets a variant on bullet time. Once again, the more these skills are used successfully, the more they evolve.

When you switch to a different protagonist, you'll join the new guy in one of many interesting, unusual or downright disturbing activities. Trevor will usually be out in the desert, Michael in town or slumped at home in front of some Vinewood action flick, sinking bourbon. You're never quite sure what you'll get. To show this off, our Rockstar representative switches from Franklin to Trevor, and we join him on a beach dressed only in Y-fronts and surrounded by dead bodies.

Got it preordered for the the 360. When I put the money down to preorder it the guy started to roll up a poster for the game. I'm 34 years old and married with a kid now. I think my days of putting video game posters up on my wall are over.

As a grown-ass man I shouldn't be as excited as I am for this game. I'd be one of those people who take a few days off to play, except my mother in law babysits our daughter at our house and that wouldn't work. I can't mysteriously take the PS3 to work either. If I was rich I'd send them on vacation.

Good thing you can just smoke up with them instead

Yes, really. You can invite your buddies to your apartment – bought with persistent in-game cash – and they can hang out, sit on your couch, and take hits off of your bong. You can even get high, which will have screen-altering effects. For instance, a hilarious new episode of Republican Space Rangers. And if other folks in your crew are out causing trouble, you can turn on Weasel News on your apartment TV and actually follow their shenanigans live, as covered by the San Andreas news channel. Or watch them hover creepily near your apartment on your home’s closed-circuit security television monitors. Of course, if come home from a hard day of murdering and just want to relax with a sh
