It is the first time they've done it planned, and it is a "test." Day of rest.

Difference is that basketball isn't up against the first weekend of NFL. I assume they didn't want to do Sunday because that was also the first weekend of the NFL.

Note to self: Don't schedule a major sporting event against the first week of the NFL.
