Good thing you can just smoke up with them instead

Yes, really. You can invite your buddies to your apartment – bought with persistent in-game cash – and they can hang out, sit on your couch, and take hits off of your bong. You can even get high, which will have screen-altering effects. Your pals are also able to look through your telescope – it won’t look into space, but will instead magnify what’s in the distance of the game world (trust me, I asked!) – or watch the in-game TV. For instance, a hilarious new episode of Republican Space Rangers. And if other folks in your crew are out causing trouble, you can turn on Weasel News on your apartment TV and actually follow their shenanigans live, as covered by the San Andreas news channel. Or watch them hover creepily near your apartment on your home’s closed-circuit security television monitors. Of course, if come home from a hard day of murdering and just want to relax with a sh

so, basically, this game is the Sims, except its actually a simulation...

I'm not even enjoying playing other games waiting for this. Might have to rent RDR for a week since that's the closest I'll get.

Some people have the strategy guide and scanned the map.

You need a console to play this?

For now, yes a PS3 or 360. Rockstar North has always eventually put the games on PC, but I'm guessing they're holding out on announcing a PC version so that people will buy it for consoles and then buy it again for PC. Usually around 6 months after the console release is the PC release. As for the PS4 and XBone, who knows.

Oh damn. I'll just have to go back to real life jacking cars and running over hookers.

I haven't read a damn thing about this game.

Haven't played since San Andreas, truth be told...

Goodness gracious.

At first glance the map doesn't look like it's that big, however with the superimposed zoom it looks much bigger. The 4 lane highway next to the guy looks massive. I'm hearing San Andreas is basically the same size as Liberty City. Then again if the map is huge but isn't detailed (Just Cause), it isn't much fun. I'm sure R* has every area well developed.

So we're all getting it for Ps3 and making an online gang, right?

So the online portion of GTA doesn't actually launch until October 1st.

Yep, pretty sure they announced that when the online trailer launched.

Not only will animals fuck, but you can fuck with animals.

Game looks great from the streams that have been up, but that's not surprising. Sure looks like the Police have been beefed up, they take you down quick.

Reviews are out. I know you won't believe it, but its getting 5/5's and 10/10's, aside from a few knocking a point off for misogyny.

The "iFruit" app for GTAV has launched. You can customize the car and plates your first protagonist starts with from the app, the first one is free (no in-game credits needed nor do you even need to have started the game). You need a Rockstar Social Club account for it. There's also a Chop (Franklin's dog) pocket pet game, here you train him and feed him and stuff. How he behaves in your GTAV game depends on what you do in the iFruit app. It's currently out for iOS, but not Android or Google yet.

Sad knowing that it's delivered to my house and I'm working until 8. The iPhone app is down too so I can't even pick up Chop's turds.

Other than reading something about it in Game Informer months ago, I don't know a ton about it. Being broke as fuck assures I won't be changing that anytime soon, but I digress.

I do get the impression that, because I'm old and bad, I'd feel there were too many moving parts, or to use a poor choice of phrase, "there's too much to do". Then again, I found the "you must eat" thing from years ago an annoying "feature".

Curious to see what you fellas write about your experiences playing it.

The beauty of the game seems to be there is nothing you have to do. There were a bazillion things you needed to do in San Andreas to get 100%, but for me, the most enjoyable part was just driving around with no purpose. If that was something you enjoyed in SA, I'd assume you'd find this even more enjoyable. If you're a completionist or OCD enough you want to do everything, then yeah, there's probably too much to do.

The manual is out as an iPhone app, assume it'll be out for Android. Worth a download for a better look at the map and the complete radio station playlist.

You "made" me find a video of the first mission .... it was nice as it was no talking over it .... I can see how that all might get one's blood pressure raised just a tad.

After the first mission I decided to go the strip club to get a private dance. Bare titties!

You then do a mini game where you have to feel her up and flirt with her to get her aroused enough so that she'll fuck you but you have to make sure the bouncer doesn't see you or he'll throw you out.

After I do that, we can go back to her place and as we get to the door I decide I want to see what circle will do so I hit it and accidentally punch her in the back of the head and she runs away frightened.

Game Of The Year

Played the first couple of missions yesterday after work. Already love the game and I'm about 2% into the story. Laughed my ass off when Chop started humping another dog.

I have to admit that the game's language is incredibly vulgar, which is amazing and hysterical. I wonder if Rockstar went too over the top with it, though?
