It all depends on your definition of far. For all intent purposes they were swept by the Heat. Rose maybe helps them win one more game against Miami. I do think with a healthy and recovered Rose that they can keep up with and beat the Pacers.

this guy is a fucking dumbass. he doesnt even realize hes speaking hypocritically. and he basically admitted kirk was his only friend in the nba. theres a reason rose doesnt recruit, guys... nobody hangs out with him because hes fucking stupid.

I see your post, but... they had no Kirk and no Luol. With Rose throughout the season that series is completely different. Noah doesn't have to be all world and get a foot injury. Every season is long and arduous and there are no guarantees what is going to happen. Given a standard level of injury as opposed to how things turned out I do believe the Bulls could have beaten the Heat.

When does the season start? Screw the season. Let's just fast forward to April, 2014. Bulls got this. :drunken:

This thread title, apropros of nothing, reminded me of an entry on Dell Curry in my much beloved yearly "Handbook of Pro Basketball", which stated "He can shoot...which is good, because seeing him plays defense leads you to believe he should be shot".

I loved that book every year. Stopped coming out in '98. Also, on then Net Jayson Williams: "Body by Fischer, Brain by Tonka Toy."

yes. I've got 83-98, all of them are great snapshots of how the league was that year....chock full of great funny comments, at least to a (then) 18 yr. old or younger...

I am rooting against Derrick Rose to succeed.

Hopefully it works as well as me rooting against Lebron to succeed did.

No. You will never see me with a Bulls avatar. I'm a fair weather bandwagon Bulls fan. I much prefer college hoops.

What team leader tells the media that he wont help his own team recruit free agents? He's a selfish little prick.

He's being loyal to his guys. If he's openly saying he'll recruit so and so, he's in essence saying "see ya" to whomever is an upcoming free ajent.

That's BS. If he really wants the Bulls to improve & win a championship, he helps bring in free agents. Then again, given Roses oratory abilities I doubt that he could sell ice water in Hell.

Keeping Score et. al. are correctly analyzing Rose's stance on recruiting. Scorehead dribbling this one off his foot.

They have enough to win. They were a shell of a team in last years postseason, so citing that is meaningless. If there are major injuries, they won't win, just like every other team in the league. If they are healthy deep into the playoffs they will have as good a shot to win as any other team. This is the best Bulls team Rose has ever had.

So is he using his brother to voice to the organization that they need to do a better job of recruiting up players?

Nah it'll be a copy of a David K Nelson painting of Thibs in his bra and panties.

Dude, you're the most hypocritical motherfucker here. Why? Because if Derrick Rose was actively lobbying to get free agents here, you'd be the FIRST person to get on here and talk about how Michael Jordan would never do something like that, and how Rose and other NBA players of today are wimps for doing so.

You constantly try to have it both ways. You're one of the all time jackasses here, and that's in every section, thread, and topic you participate in. That's saying something, considering some of the grade-a dickheads that have passed through here. There have been times when you've made Elmhurst Steve look sympathetic by comparison.

That's funny, because I've thought of him as a kinder, gentler Elmhurst Steve.

As for my stance on Rose, I want him to come back and be awesome again, because he makes watching the Bulls fun. All this stuff with his brother is getting really irritating, though, and now coming out and saying it's not his job to get people to come here is kind of disappointing. I mean, technically, no, it isn't, but to come out and say that while it's become an accepted part of league business makes you look pretty checked out.

You may find this difficult to believe, but I think that somewhere deep inside, Elmhurst Steve actually has something resembling a heart. There have been rare times when he's expressed compassion for his fellow man.

In contrast, I'm convinced (based on observing his posts for over 4 years), that Scorehead couldn't be bothered to give a fuck about anything or anyone but himself.

That's fine. And I don't completely disagree. My opinion is that he should just probably keep his mouth shut about anything not involving his actual on-court activities. It seems Derrick has the tendency to say the wrong thing a lot. Regardless of his stance on players recruiting players, there is no advantage to him publicly coming out so staunchly against it.

So you have formed that opinion of me without ever having met me or knowing me? Alrighty then.

Perhaps it makes you feel better when you rant on a sports message board & call people names. Whatever.

I hope you get your anger issues under control.

Actually, no.

Your stance is that he's a "selfish prick" for not recruiting free agents. My stance is that regardless of how he feels about recruiting, he should probably refrain from making those thoughts known publicly.

Please try again.

welp, you might remember the last time we heard that derrick worked on his jumper he won a MVP. lebron was obviously the best player in the league, but derrick got his lil prize for taking the super try-hard bulls to the best regular season record in basketball... c'est la vie.

if this knee injury results in him being money from 15-17, i'll take it. but i don't have much of a choice anyways.

tl;dr = as long as this team is the current iteration of the super try-hard bulls (as adding derrick to the mix made the vintage 00s try-hard bulls the super try hard bulls) yeah, they're not going to win anything. the problem is that i don't know how they're going to go about getting a bonafide superstar on the team when thibbs is hellbent on winning 55+ games a year in the annual "how long can we avoid miami in the postseason" derby
