If there's anything worse than Mike discussing NBA or the NBA salary cap, it's Mike debating music with Jiggles. I think he was actually trying to argue that Pearl Jam could only play mid-sized theaters or clubs. I'm not a Pearl Jam fan but I believe the last several times they've played here it's been at Soldier Field, United Center, etc. They pretty much play arenas and sheds all the time. Then inevitably when music is being discussed Fred has to chime in with his wet blanket routine about whoever it is sucks, only has 2 good songs, etc. I'm sure Fred's CD collection consists of 10 CD's likely including Celine Dion, the Beatles greatest hits, Herb Albert & The Tijuana Brass, Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Leo Sayer. Actually he probably doesn't have the Beatles greatest hits, that's probably a little too progressive for him.

Jen actually tries to make a point or god forbid correct Mike and then the uncomfortable radio ensue with Mike trying to shout his point across for the next 10 minutes.

I listened to a few minutes of the show today and caught some of this. It was uncomfortable. Actually, one of them probably does have The Beatles: 1, because one day they used all the songs in that exact order going into breaks. Even "Yesterday."

If the music came out past 1980, Mike probably won't like it, and he won't let the facts get in the way of his illogical rants. Pearl Jam is just the latest example.

Thats hilarious, Yesterday is a good song but should Never, Ever be used as an intro or outro for a sports radio show.

Can anyone confirm if Mike North is knowledgable about anything? any topic? selling hot dogs?

I tried to teach him about: A Tribe Called Quest - De La Soul - Gang Starr - even old school Isaac Hayes & Curtis Mayfield & Booker T & Stax Records, but he wouldn't listen.

Those artists aren't white enough for him.

Ice Ice Baby! Yes I tried Kool & The Gang the early years, but he wanted the pop years; I also tried the Bus Boys - Living Colour - Bob Marley - Peter Tosh - even Yellow Music Orchestra, but he wanted Electric Light Orchestra.

Damn Nostro. If I didn't know any better I'd assume you were a brother. Are you Herb "No Neck" Lawrence?

Jen has a cute voice, though. I don't dislike her.

I don't know what's worse - Mike's staunchly and defiantly anachronistic taste in music, or Larry Holmes' complete hipster poser act.

They're undeniably Champaign-Urbana.

Mike this morning, telling us about how Rock is at Ozzfest. He's confused as to why a concert would start at 1 in the afternoon. Mike, when it's a FESTIVAL and there's 30 OR 40 BANDS PLAYING, they usually start in the early afternoon. Not to mention the show is most likely all-ages meaning they have to be done by 10 or 11 or whatever curfew is, the time that you feel they should begin playing. Idiot.
