Sky-Ride's a full-on, beer-and-a-shot dive bar, great place. Doesn't get very busy during the day anymore tho.

But anyway, that was the company Xmas party....at the skyride

Since I have a CDL, they seem to discourage it.

This is a different partner. The guy in jail liked to run a tighter ship.

Your current partner would drink every day starting at 11, if he could

yeah, and then there are guys who have problems

One guy who got laid off a while back (not fired) apparently drank every day. Shots every couple of hours I guess.

This girl we work with joked with him about doing shots at work one day.

15 mins later, put a shot of Jack and a stick of gum on her desk and said "have fun"

Say you got a big job interview, and you're a little nervous. Well throw back a couple shots of Hennigan's and you'll be as loose as a goose and ready to roll in no time. And because it's odorless, why, it will be our little secret. Its H-E- double N- I...

Just so I understand, the majority of us are against underage drinking with parents but perfectly fine with drinking on the clock?

It's not really an issue unless you're hammered.

I'd wager that the people against drinking on the job are in industries where its not acceptable.

I dont think Frank should be driving a forklift around his warehouse after a couple of lunch beers.

If you are in sales, it's almost your responsibility to drink.

I just wanted to know where the personal accountability line was drawn. About where I suspected.

I still don't understand what you are getting at. There are reasons why minors shouldn't be drinking at home(or anywhere) that aren't there for most workers.

I never understood the allure of drinking while at work. If you can't wait until happy hour before cracking a cold one, I'm wondering if there are other issues at play. Since, you know, HR might have an issue with drinking on work time.

There's no debate about the dangers of underage drinking. I'm just wondering why adults who drink on the job -- a fireable offense in most companies -- don't hold themselves to the same strict standard as they would their children.

I doubt most companies would or could do something to you if you had a beer at lunch unless you operate heavy machinery. I don't see many employment contracts stating you need to stay at 0.0 at all times.

Because it is really bad for children to drink? I wouldn't want my 13 year old having sex either even though I am.

Not for awhile. It made refereeing intramural football fun in college, though.

Some just need a reason to pull the trigger, especially in an at-will state.

If you get fired for having a beer at lunch you likely weren't going to last very long anyways.

Unless you are operating heavy machinery obviously.
