Not really. Ranger wants to be a play by play guy. Goff probably is self aware enough to know he couldn't do play by play.

Goff has a talk show unlike Ranger. That's what he wants to do.

Hawks games takes away Goff's radio show. So it sounds like this just keeps him working 5 days a week during the NBA season instead of the way Larry has it. I'd imagine the radio show pay goes down cuz of the lack of shows and the Hawks pay picks up that slack for him.

Ranger is on 162 nights a year. He has a show during weekends of the off season. Ranger probably has more broadcast time in a year on the Score than some of the day hosts.

My point was doing pre and post isn't a dead end gig for Goff as you insinuated. He already had a talk show. The Hawks were taking away some of those shows.

Goff's goal is to sabotage and back-stab the day part talkers at that Atlanta station and take over one of those shows.

Although Goff has to be more tame since the Atlanta Hawks are paying him, I do think he'll crack after this happens...

Doing the Bulls pre and post eventually got the boring Carmen DeFalco afternoon drive when they fired Mac.

I know Ranger has said he wants to do play by play for an MLB team. I don't know how he thinks he's gonna get that type of gig without ever doing it. Like minor league play by play or even college basketball. Something. David Wills was doing UIC games before the Rays hired him.

Maybe Goff can bring drinky to the ATL if the station still thinks the night show should be two hosts. Goff might have some influence now and might be able to get this done for his old friend.
