Thinking about heading over to this one.

88 breweries
203 different beers

http://www.napervillealefest.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Brewery-Beer-Line-Up.pdf

I've never had any Solemn Oath stuff, like to try that.

Heard a lot of good stuff about Widmer Brother but never tried that either.

Urban Legend is opening a tasting room any day now. I'd try that and hope it's good.

I wouldn't classify Magic Hat #9 as a fruit beer.

I like what FFF did... "F**k you, we'll show up with two beers. Don't worry about it."

I like the Widmer that I had but I'm not an IPA guy like everybody else. Their gose and the milk stout was good. Can't bring myself to cough up the 12 bucks for their limited RIS's.

I think I would rather drink 1 good beer all night while listening to 88 fingers louie than sample all of that. That is like an introduction to non BMC beers.

If anyone is going I am going to be pouring at the Lake Effect table. Come say hi!

I don't know what we are bringing yet but I'll make sure the Dr gets a good pour.

It was hot. And we poured a lot of beer. Met a lot of people, not sure if Dr. Ken was one of them. Naperville had no idea what they were getting into for this 1st annual beer fest. A lot of the local volunteers were amazed at the amount of drunkeness and said "I certainly didn't expect this".  I had an officer chastise me for over pouring the allotted 3 oz in a glass. That was the least of his problems today. Great area to have a fest, but the layout was way too spread out. Most complaints were hard to find places that they wanted to try beer from. Hopefully they do it again next year but tighten it up a bit.

Did you work the tent last weekend at Lisle Ale Fest? I had reason to be in town and hit the tent but I felt weird asking if "jackref" was there. I had the Falcon Dive IPA and really enjoyed it.

I was not at that one - but they probably would have known who you were referring to :) Glad to hear you liked it! What else were they pouring? If you ever see the Kuhler See (Cool Lake) you should get it. It's one of the most unique beers around and very drinkable and honestly my favorite beer they brew. Its always on tap at Gale Street Inn and Hops and Barley in Jefferson Park. Once they can make enough of it to keep up demand I have a feeling it will be a signature Chicago beer - its that good.
