He is my second favorite non-Hawk.

1) Loui Eriksson
3) Anze Kopitar

Two good choices. Eriksson is beast.

Yeah, that Eriksson trade quietly made Boston better and Dallas considerably worse. Tyler Seguin is the lesser, drunker Kane.

Since they're gonna roll this season, I think a 50 goal season from Kaner should be expected or something to root for. 60 assists and 40 goals for Toews.

Or how about three 100 point seasons from Toews, Kane and Hosa. Sharp has an 80 point season.

Hossa isn't having a 100 point season, those days are behind him. Not to mention he'll miss at least 15 games this season.

Ok.

Kane and Toews - 100 each. Hossa - 60. Sharp - 80.

Is that reasonable?

Kane could hit 100 in the best possible situation. Toews at best will hit 85.

The one web site had a pic of that game. Frolik, Ladd and Byfuglien.

I think that penalty Nordstrom took has guaranteed a scratch for next game.

The look that Sharp gave Nordstrom as he entered the penalty box was priceless.

Yeah, I kinda had to laugh. Kind of a "welp, enjoy the press box, kid."

If what we saw last night is the new strategy to the Hawks PK then the team is in serious trouble this year. I've never seen a team sag that much toward their own goal on a 5v4. They treated the 5v4 like it was a 5v3. I've never seen a team be able to set up its point men at the top of the circles on a 5v4. I was screaming at the tv to spread out and contest the points. The've only got Ovechkin and Green out there! Two of the best in the business.

That was without a doubt the worst PK structure I've ever seen in all my years watching hockey.

Why exactly would they change something that was such a strength for them? No frolik=shitcan the entire pk strategy??

I would attribute a lot of last night's problems to the preseason. Hossa and Zuus didn't play at all. The rest of the stars did not play together most games. I think there needs to be a re-acquaintance with each other and get flow.

Frolik was a great penalty killer, so of course losing him is going to hurt the PK some.

The PK was fine on the first two Caps PPs. They killed off the first one and then got some bad luck on a pass that Hammer deflected that went right to Ovechkin who made a great shot top farside corner. The two PPs that the Caps scored on in the 3rd is where the Hawks collapsed too hard and let the guys at the point get in too close. Just let the Caps get too comfortable and dictate the whole thing.

It was disappointing but it was the first game of the year with a new guy on the PK vs the #1 PP in the league last year. Shit happens.

Mac sort of touched on it but I guess with all the people they introduced during the pregame banner raising stuff, Foley didnt get mentioned? what gives?

Yeah, they left Wiedeman and Murray out, too, though I suppose they were busy. Still, you couldn't have mentioned the rest of the broadcasters? They're part of The Organization, and people care more about them than the Mental Skills Coach.

As for the penalty kill, yeah, losing Frolik hurts, and going up against one of the best power play units in the league isn't a good way to start the year, but they can't be this bad or we're in trouble.

Hahaha, I just read that Troy Brouwer is complaining that Grabovski's positioning was off last night. Grabovski had three goals and an assist. How did this guy get so cunty?
