I dont see Elway as an all time top 5 either. Getting a little over-loved here.

He was definitely better than his numbers look. He was always a top 3ish QB while he was in the league.

#2 is Jeff George.

I was sitting in the 3rd row at midfield when he rolled left and threw on the run from the 42 on a rope to the opposite corner of the end zone and hit Mike Bellamy on the hands.

Greatest throw I've ever seen.

James Harris had the biggest arm I've ever seen.

Joe Namath never gets enough love on these lists either. If he could have gotten modern knee surgery like today who knows what kind of numbers bed have ended up with

Brady has won rings with lesser talent that Peyton has had. Not much, as yes, we know he had Moss, but Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison for a good chunk of Mannings career INSIDE is a nice start!

Still 1,2 in my book.

Neither has best arm, best legs, etc etc, but they play the position better than any 2 (including montana) ever have.

I think it's funny when I hear Brady won with lesser talent. It's as if you ignore the his superior offensive line and the defensive side of the ball. That said, I'm on board with you. I think we need to come to the realization these guys are 1 - 2.

Lesser Talent than Harrison, Wayne and Clark for solid 5 years.

Welker didnt have 100 catches in Miami

Your point? You are making a huge assumption those others would have. You also didn't bother to address any of my points and simply ignored them. Don't have time for bad arguments. I'm not even necessarily arguing for Manning over Brady. Your argument is lazy - like someone who plays fantasy football only made it.

In no particular order:

Montana
Manning
Brady
Marino
Staubach

Elway cannot make this list as he was a head case for much of the first 2/3rds of his career & was riding behind Terrell Davis during his two glory years.

Steve Young's high points were far, far higher than anything Elway did imo, but obviously Elway has the longevity edge.

Elway was just as goofy as Favre for at least his first 10-12 years. He'd make 2-3 spectacular plays
then just do something dumb. He did things his way & then pouted like a baby when he couldn't get his way.

Strongest arm for an often productive starter, Doug Williams. Country strong. He'd barely edge out Jeff George. Imo.

Some okay guys in that list. I always liked Walsh, Krieg, Miller, Chandler. And Henry Burris was a great interview!

This old guy remembers that those early SB teams had some great defenses. One year they had the best defense in the NFL.

Elway was a great QB though.

I know it's all opinion, but I'm surprised by the John Elway response....

One more Super Bowl victory is worth a +148 TD and -17 INT ratio?

Different era. Different rules. Elway is top 2 on every list.

Every what list?

Most resembling the team mascot...

Close, but I would say that Aaron Rodgers and Brett Farve look more like fudge Packers than Elway a horse.

Shannon Sharpe more resembles a horse than Elway.

My QB would be Montana.

Montana is over loved I think when you stack up the all time list. Yes a champion and effective but in my book I go with the more high octane guys.
