Although we have our issues, it didn't ever concern me. I know she wouldn't put in that kind of situation or herself. She is re-married to a guy I knew quite well and I am ok with him. He and I actually talk quite a bit when I see him at games and even had a few beers together last Friday night.

4 years ago I would have read this and just shrugged and moved on. Crazy people in the world, oh well. Having kids changed that, I get so bothered by anything related to violence against kids that it really spikes my blood pressure. I need to calm down about it.

The weird thing is that now I shrug my shoulders about big things like the Marathon Bombing or the Kenyan Mall thing.

And I think you're in the majority on that. But I think there's room to be sensitive to all of it. That's why so many of the tragedy jokes here bother me. People don't like it when I speak out about it and they like to use terms like "morality police" and shit like that. But the fact is, I think there is something absolutely sick and twisted about taking a real life situation like this or Sandy Hook or the Marathon bombing and turning it into a punchline. That's just how I feel about it.
