How could the mother expose her son to this guy knowing his violent past? What the fuck is wrong with people.

Women make horrible decisions like this all the time. Some just don't result in a child getting beat to death.

That link KS posted shared some very awful things about this piece of shit. It made it sound like if you knew this guy today's news wouldn't surprise you.

It was her horrible decision that led to the child getting beat to death?

Yes. She was dating a guy who has a long history of beating women. That means he's likely beat her. I doubt this was the first time he's put his hand on the child but I could be wrong. I wouldn't date a woman who's had a history of abuse and I wouldn't want a man around my kids who's had a history of abuse. Too many red flags. Better safe than sorry. No sex is more important than the safety of your kids.

There was just a similar (kinda different circumstances) situation near me. A childs mother left a 1 or so year old alone with a career fuckup who was her boyfriend and this guy got shitfaced day drinking at home and put the kid and another maybe 3 year old in the bath and the youngest one drowned.....since he left them alone for a half hour in the bath. His sentence was virtually nothing and it is sickening.

I dunno. If I had like 5 kids I'd consider trading one for some consistant good sex.

That suprises me you feel that way. Do you feel this way about people that have committed violent crimes or any crimes in general? I usually agree with you on most social issues but I think this one starts with men.

It's more of a domestic issue for me but when it comes to the safety of my kids I would include violent crimes and a few other things. It's not his father. That means you have a choice. Is abusing women and kids something you want a child to think is okay? Don't get me wrong this guy is responsible for his actions but this could have been prevented if mom thinks with her head instead of her you know what.

If she has a history of abuse, she doesn't know any better. Or low self esteem which is usually exacerbated by men in the teen years to early 20s, I think.

They don't start out clocking you in the face either. It's usually subtle and then progresses. But by that time you love them, and they usually have the woman some what isolated.

Sorry I'm usually pretty pro men but this one starts with you guys imo.

I agree it does start with us in a sense but there is an underlying problem that's probably being overlooked too. In this case this guy beat a bunch of women BEFORE he met her. He had a child with one of these women. It's highly unlikely she wasn't aware of his past.

The guy is obviously the sociopath who committed this awful crime but the mother should value the child's life enough to never knowingly put them in this situation. This happened by his hands but under her watch.

Right he beat a bunch of women. Huge problem. Shouldn't do that, not acceptable. This woman could be terrible but it's likely that she wasn't in a good place if AP saw her as disposable. Or who knows how many other men.

Maybe he changed. That's why I asked if you only feel that way about people that have comitted violent crimes or not?

Women are treated well compared to some other places but there is a long way to go here still. I'm lucky with family and friends, but its not always easy.

I agree there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to close the gap.

Give up on that. It's only getting bigger. Too sexualized.

No and I think it's getting worse. I didn't have the facebook stuff. With the exception of Madonna most females in pop culture were wholesome. The clothes I had weren't slutty, there were a few stores or things you'd sneak to change into but that's what people wear now. They learn stuff earlier.

What do you see with your girls?

I don't handle these types of stories well at all. Sometimes its the reason I don't watch the news right before I go to bed. Its awful and I'm not sure what I can do to help. I'm just sick about this.

I don't have issues with them now. Ask me in 3 or 4 years though. I didn't allow them to even wear fingernail polish for a while or even put vaseline on their lips let alone some lip gloss. They can use chapstick and fingernail polish now even though I hate the smell. I had witnessed so many little girls acting as if they were adults and the women thought this was cute.

I don't have a problem with most of that. I get the feeling a lot of kids think they are peers of adults and parents indulge kids a little too much. People have "things". What I don't like you might find acceptable, what I like you might not. I wish they came with persoanlized directions.

This is the problem I have with my ex. She is re-living her highschool years through my daughter and promoting the skimpy clothing. She takes her to a salon to get her nails and hair done and let her buy 300.00 hair extentions at 14. Not much I can do and it drives me crazy.

I'm not gonna say anyone here is for child abuse because I don't think that, but honestly what does it say for you as a human being that when you read a story of a child being beat to the point they are in critical condition, that tragically ended with that poor child passing, your first thought was to make light of the situation?

Reevaluate your life maybe?
