SHARK was positive Donny Baseball was getting fired this year as well.

And he was positive the Sox were gonna suck last year too.

Anyone have the splits that show whether Dunn actually hits better when he plays the field?

You can sell hope, but it doesn't hit homers. The Avisail Garcia deal is better than anything Theo has done with the Cubs. There's one guy to really build around. We'll see what they do. Right now, I'm not optimistic.

Who took over JORR's account?

I mean, because there is NO WAY IN HELL, that JORR would be touting a prospect with 95 games to his credit over a Quality starting left handed pitcher like Travis Wood.

I mean that would pretty much go against everything JORR is about with regards to prospects and proven players.

And why are you judging your teams moves based on how they compare to Theo?

Not true. Especially these days, for whatever reason, pitchers just don't seem to last. I like Chris Sale, but I'm not jumping over the moon about him. Felix Hernandez was bound for the Hall of Fame and now he's just another decent pitcher and he has games where he has difficulty striking guys out in an era where guys go up there trying to strike out. I hope you're not writing Travis Wood into your World Series rotation in ink.

Just pointing out the ridiculous disparity in the way the teams are covered. There's a big difference between a guy with 100 big league games and some success in the postseason and someone who is striking out 150 times in A ball.

I see, so Sox fan can call a guy a building block after 42 games (95 overall) and that's just peachy

If a Cub fan did that, you would be absolutely murdering him for it and saying "He'll probably never be as good as Jayson Werth"

Look, I have no problem with you having an opinion and believing in it. I've seen a lot of prospects on both sides of town. I never said Beckham would be anything. I never said Viciedo would be anything. I never said Greg Walker would be anything. It's my opinion that Avisail Garcia is a real player. Sure, I could be wrong. I'll tell you what though, I'm not making that statement about every fuckin' dope the Sox bring up and stick in a uniform or every guy they draft way too fucking high. And Garcia probably won't have the numbers of Jayson Werth. If he does, he's not a bad guy to build a team around, especially post-Steroid Era.

The Sox dumped plenty of payroll SHARKAROO so Dunn's contract won't prevent them from making moves. If they do sign a first baseman I hope they aim higher than James Loney.

Almora, Bryant, Baez, Edwards, etc. Please tell me which ones you do not like. I can provide a long list of Sox minor leaguers I never desire to see in Chicago.

How many ways is this question flawed?

First of all, it assumes all minor league systems are equal. Secondly, it assumes that all teams get high draft picks every year.

Two of those are top 5 picks in the last two drafts and three of them are very highly rated prospects in all of baseball. You think I should write them off?

Would you? Do you?

Baez just came off a pretty good year. I dont know what to make of Edwards yet. Im not real high on him because his small frame.

Also
Brett Jackson
Josh Vitters
Matt Sczur
Arodys Vizcaino
Junior Lake

I dont expect much out of any of them.

 That was part of my point. Cub fans always seem to believe they have a bunch of impact guys in the system when they rarely ever do.

So the Sox are all in on Jose Abreu? It is being reported that he will command upwards of 70 mil over 6 or 7 years. Very interesting. That is more money than Puig or Cespedes got (cespedes got more per year but only 4 years).

It is being reported by his representatives. We'll see, but I don't think any of the big boys are in the market for a 1B this year.

If Mozeliak offered Matt Adams and a B/C prospect for Alexei, would you do it?

I don't see the Cardinals doing that at all.

MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reports that free agent Cuban slugger Jose Abreu has narrowed his list of potential destinations to the Astros, Red Sox and White Sox.

I'd say the Red Sox qualify as a big boy. I hope the (White) Sox spend whatever it takes to sign him.

Where would they play Napoli? The DH spot is taken there.

Napoli is only on a 1 yr deal but I'm sure the Red Sox will do everything to resign him. There was another report that the Red Sox and Astros have backed out of the bidding.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Astros have fallen short in the bidding for Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu.
Olney hears that the Astros bid between $50-60 million while indications are that the winning bid will be around $70 million. The Red Sox don't expect to sign Abreu, so unless there's a sleeper team in the mix, this leaves the White Sox as the likely favorites.

Is he in the majors on Day 1 and batting 3 or 4th? Where does he rank about the best propsects? Any current major leaguer that he's being compared to?

They discussed on B&B. They claimed they heard or whatever he is major league ready right now. In Cuba hit 44 homers and 34? in 66 games or some shit. If he is Puig it is worth it.

The problem is that he might be Puig's father. He is 26 in cuban years.

I don't think he can run like Puig. Besides that, it appears that there's a book on Puig now and he's not going to be hitting anywhere near .300 in the future. Abreu is supposed to be a one tool player. You better hope that tool is the same one David Ortiz has. Look at all the hype and money for a guy like Cespedes. I'm not sure he's any better than Viciedo, who is really just a guy. I won't be surprised if Soler turns out to be the best of this wave of Cubans.
