I'm referring to his overall tenure with the Bears. I'm not saying he's playing at an all-pro level now. I'm saying he has done pretty well here.

Tommy Harris tore the hammy off his bone and never recovered. Even when he said he was fine, the guy couldnt walk.

I would hope I am as wrong as can be about Peppers. I hope the guy has some BEAST games soon, but to date he has been MIA.

Here is what I said in another thread about the most overpaid & overrated player in the NFL:

The Bears defensive line is absolute horseshit. Worst I have seen in many years. The Giants have a horrible OL & yet the Bears still couldn't get any pressure on Eli. I have plenty of room left on the "Julius Peppers sucks" bandwagon, & I'm guessing that unless you are blind or one of Peppers parents, you now agree with me. Once again he didn't record a single stat. Not one. Zip. Zilch. He was easily handled by his opponent. If Pep doesn't beat his opponent with his first move, which he cant do anymore, he is easily pushed out of the play.
Carolina knew exactly what they were doing when they let Peppers go.

His play or at least presence made a difference the last few years. I don't know what the problem is. Is he injured?

0 tackles again last night.

Saw him run BY Eli last night on the TD throw, sure looked like he could have laid a hit on him, but didnt even try

Carolina new exactly what they were doing when they let Pep go.

I was with you until the last sentence. When he left Carolina, he was still an effective player and gave the Bears another two good years. He didn't begin to decline until last season. But don't sit here and pretend like you had the answer all along. You didn't. You were complaining about him during his good years and you sounded (as usual) like a blithering fucking idiot.

That's like screaming throughout his career that Tim Duncan sucks, and then when he's old and ineffective saying, "See? I told you he sucked!" Just because he's old and bad now, doesn't mean you were correct in previous years.

For what it's worth Kid, that's what I was screaming at Ginobli when he blew he Finals for San Antonio last year

So was I, Brogue. But when he was good, he was good. Last year's horrible Finals performance doesn't negate all the good years he had.

Scorehead basically wants to take this year's horrible Peppers season and retroactively discredit the guy's entire career up until now. It doesn't work that way. For whatever reason, he just never liked Peppers and now somehow feels like his years of irrational bitching about a good player are vindicated because the guy now appears to be at the end of his rope.

During Peppers "good" years, there was lots & lots of talk about him being a dog who takes games off & only plays when he feels like it. This was talked about at length on the Score & WMVP. I wasn't alone. I'm not a fan of athletes who have great talent & ability but don't play hard.

Held out of practice again.

I guess he is practicing to be absent again.

He earned his money when he first got here. Bears knew he would be a shell of himself at the end of this deal. Injuries haven't helped.

Peppers was great today in all phases of defensive line play. I want to see that every week.

I said that about 6 of the Bears 9 games this year. $14 million fucking dollars per year for this guy. Lovie & Jerry saved their jobs though.
