I thought it can't possibly be as bad as its reputation because it's really popular in Hawaii, so I fried up some Spam. I thought wrong. This is like a block of gelatinous bacon. What made me thinking it couldn't be so bad? I'm going to die of sodium intake.

How about corned beef hash? I'd rate a can of corned beef hash above a container o spam.

Could a spam eating contest be far behind?

I've had it often, usually fried with rice and egg. It's not my favorite but it's pretty good.

My kids eat it all the time. They love it.

A good Spam breakfast is OK every once in a while. Way too salty for me, which I know sounds odd coming from a fat guy, but I can see why people would like it.

I love SPAM.
I usually fry it up other ways I like it are :
Baked with Mac and Cheese
Cut up and made into an omlette with onion and cheese.

All it is is the shavings from canned hams and shaped spice ham.

All it is is salt. I don't think I've ever consumed something so salty.

Filipinos love it. My GF's family puts it in everything.

I'll have to await Krazy Ivan's return from gender reassignment camp to hear his thoughts on Filipinos

Krazy Ivan needs some lumpia with the sweet and sour spicy sauce.

Love it as well. Also love the other variations.

My mm for dinner used to take a huge casserole dish: put about 3 cans of hash in the center surrounded by egg noodles then bake it,yum yum

When I was in Hawaii I could not believe the number of spam items there.

The McDonalds there had a pretty good spam, egg, and rice breakfast.

I love me some corn beef hash too.....overhard with a slice of cheese melted on. And crispy on the edges of the hash.

I've never had bad corned beef hash.

Slightly OT but someone explain this marketing to me:

Butcher: Hey, try this new cut we have on sale. It's s a rectangular roast weighing 6-10 pounds and containing a portion of the shoulder blade bone.
Customer: Hmm. That sounds pretty good. What's it called again?
Butcher: Smoked Butt
Customer:    [buys beef.]

Do you actually realize the level of respect you have around here (from people of consequence, anyway) that nobody - nobody - ran with that? :D

I hear the real Hawaiian pizza is not ham and pineapple, but Spam and pineapple.

Yeah, but it depends on how it's made. It's great when made from scratch with real corned beef, potatoes, peppers, etc.. The stuff that comes out of a can is heinous.

I haven't tried Spam, but it sounds that it is better when used sparingly, almost as a condiment.
