...should be kicked out, too."

CBS) Though it’s been over a week since Brandon Marshall said notorious headhunter Brandon Meriweather has no place in the NFL, the Redskins safety had a strong response to the Bears wide receiver.

“He feel like I need to be kicked out of the league? I feel like people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out, too,” Meriweather said Monday.

”You tell me who you’d rather have: Somebody who play aggressive on the field, or somebody who beat up their girlfriend?”
Marshall’s initial comments on Meriweather came after the Bears loss to the Redskins on October 20, where Meriweather was flagged twice for hitting a defenseless receiver.
Meriweather was suspended two games for his illegal hits, but that suspension has since been reduced to one game.
In March of 2007, Marshall was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend reported that following a domestic dispute, he prevented a taxi she was in from leaving his house. Those charges were later dismissed after Marshall completed anger management counseling

Marshall was also accused of hitting a woman outside a night club in New York in 2012.

When asked how he needs to change his game play to avoid further suspensions, Meriweather had an interesting response.

“You gotta go low now,” he said. “You gotta end people’s careers. You gotta tear people’s ACLs, mess up people’s knees now. You can’t hit them the way - you can’t hit them high anymore. Just go low.”

Merriweather comes off as a crybaby with this. Marshall had his issues and has tried, successfully, to correct them. Merriweather just continues to head hunt. Maybe somebody oughta take his knees out and end his career.

The difference is,America wasn't watching when Marshall had his issues. Everybody can see Merriweather trying to kill someone. I really don't know much about Marshall's past and what's fact and what's not. I did see what Merriweather did.

So you think a decade long history of beating women is worse than helmet to helmet hits that were celebrated by EVERYONE 15 years ago on NFL films?

Both things are wrong. No mutual exclusivity here.

I don't think Marshall is 100% innocent of everything, but for reference here the only thing he was ever prosecuted for DUI. Every other charge was dropped. Some of it is probably he said he said. Some of it Marshall is probably guilty of. But nobody really knows for sure other than Marshall himself.

The being on TV point jimmypasta made is a good one I think.

Unless I'm missing something, absolutely yes the former is far, far worse than the latter ... there's actually no comparison.

Roethlisberger was never even charged with anything but people seem to have no problem hanging rapist on him. Its a cross Marshall has to bear.

I side with Meriweather. If you don't want to get hit in the head, don't play football. Marshall has always been a piece of shit, and he can't change that, as much as he tries. He had more charges against him a day before he was traded to the Bears. It's bound to happen again.

Merriweather has been a bigger piece of shit. He was involved in a shooting at college as well as a part of the big Da U-FIU brawl where he was filmed stomping on players on the ground as well as taking off his helmet and swinging it. His hit on Todd Heap was the catalyst for the NFL to start suspending people for hits. He should have been ejected from the Packers game earlier this season, but he's so bad he knocked himself out on one of his helmet to helmet hits. He's football garbage.

All true.

Smacking women around is infinitely worse though.

The world might arguably be better off if they both packed up and removed themselves to a remote island to live peaceably and never be heard from again.

I dunno, being involved in a shooting and stomping someone is bad. Whether you hit a man or a woman, doesn't matter in my book, they're both bad. If you want to say hitting someone you're supposed to be in a relationship with is worse, I'm ok with that though.

im not being that guy, but i dont think marshal was ever charged with hitting a woman. his wife did stab him though, which i doubt happens unless he showed some aggression first.

It just doesnt make any sense as a response. Marshall wasnt saying that he should be out of the league because he is a bad a guy. He's saying he should be out of the league because he's dangerous to himself and others on the field. He just fired back a personal insult because he doesnt have a leg to stand on. A player like him should be out of the league.

Full disclosure: Beating women is bad.
