A guy like Herb who works in the sports business should realize that Baseball is king in St. Louis, not Football. The Cardinals have been their forever while the Rams are just temporary St. Louis tenants. The Mizzou Tigers are more popular...except for their Kicker.

It's one of the reasons. Obviously there are cost factors. But I'm sure you know that given the choice of anything at all, there are plenty of people that would want 2 Big Macs and a Super Fries as their last meal.

Football is a game for its time. A true celebration of the simpleton who finds the nuance of baseball too "boring".

Why don't we call St. Louis what it really is, A mediocre sports town. You are of course gonna say the tired, 'it's a baseball town' excuse but what does that really mean about the sport landscape as a whole? They are on the precipice of losing not 1 (Cardinals) but 2 (Rams) current NFL teams (in my lifetime), 2 NBA teams (1 current team) & 1 current day baseball team just because the Cardinals are wildly popular and the folks don't have room for much else. Cards fans are fantastic but maybe they shouldn't be so single minded and their sports atmosphere would be better.

Herb is seriously holding the departure of the St. Louis Browns against them? The St. Louis Browns were such a joke of an also-ran that they make the Chicago Cardinals look like a force. How long, exactly, did Herb think a smallish, economically depressed city was going to maintain two major league baseball teams? What a talking butt.
