Nikolai Khabibulin is 40 fucking years old & washed up. I was shocked when the Hawks signed him as Crow's backup. Antti Raanta is tearing it up in Rockford. Raanta will someday be the #1 Goalie for your Chicago Blackhawks & don't be surprised if there is a Goalie controversy here this year. Raanta is player.

I don't think it'll be a controversy. They'll just get rid of Khabibulin and that will be that.

If Raanta can keep up the pace through Thanksgiving and show that he's used to North American ice, I think he'll have earned a spot start with the Hawks. They gave Niemi a game or two in 2009.

In admittedly a small sample size that last season provided, in 12 games he had a .923% with a 2.55GA. Obviously his age is a concern, but in an 82 game season, you can give him 5-6 more starts to prove himself.
