I have a very bad feeling about this as well. This whole Bi-GM thing with Jed and Theo might have been a bad idea. When you have someone of almost equal power to bounce ideas off of you 2nd guess yourself, dick around debating while life continues to happen around you. Unless Demi Lovullo is hired then they are going to look like they have no clear plan as all the other candidates have been on the table for weeks. If you want Renteria then go fucking hire him already.

I don't really have a guy. You could probably throw them all in a hat and pull one out. I was hoping they could pull Girardi away but we all know what "hope" gets us. Nas and I were about the only two who wanted Girardi in 07 over Lou. I really think they may have missed on Sandburg, only time will tell.
It just seems they are flailing about with no direction after Girardi re-upped. It'll probably be Renteria. He may end up being a good manager, who knows. Until they get some MLB talent, any manager is going to be bad.

Lots of speculation that I'm not sure has much merit. And there isn't a Bi-GM situation, and the Cubs front office setup is not unique.

Yeah,The Cubs already had this setup when they booted Andy McFAIL upstairs and hired that former Mets pitcher as GM.

I really figured we'd be able to get a young guy with little/no experience who, nonetheless, has always been regarded as a very cerebral person and player. Ausmus would have been great for the Cubs. I guess the fact that he wasn't a TheoAndJed crony worked against him. Let's only ever hire Red Sox and Padres guys.
