Look at this fuckin' thread. Darkside and Angus bein' all funneh.

Well, holy shit, it looks like my original Saints thread is gone. I can't say I blame bigfan for that.

And now, it's 2013. THIS FUCKIN GUY!!!!!!

Image

is gonna have a rough year. the saints have one of the hardest schedules, and i don't think payton is going to make that much of a difference, since floppy rob ryan is helming the defense. they still showed they can't stop big plays even in preseason.

i like kenny stills though. the offense should still be good. but atlanta's going to run away with this division.

9-7...just missing the playoffs.

Prior to last season I always thought the Saints poor defensive statistics were a function of the high-octane offense. If you're going to keep scoring TD after TD at a relatively fast pace, opposing offenses are going accumulate a bunch of yards once they start throwing all over the place to keep up. For example the Pats and Falcons finished 24th and 25th last year in yards given up. I'm not sure what happened to the Saints last season, but I don't think any team that scores at the rate teams like the Saints and Patriots do are going to have impressive defensive statistics at the end of the year.

the saints don't have a lot of talent on defense, nor is their coordinator getting much out of them. williams came in with a big plan and it worked to perfection in '09 but it was based on opportunistic "be at the right place at the right time" tactics, not tackling and rushing the quarterback. their pass rush is awful.

they haven't had a solid D in over a decade except for '09 but again...that was very flukey.

otherwise, the points are valid...but even with high octane offenses, the defenses on those other teams seem to be able to stop offenses when they needed to.

That is a lot of sackage for one set of downs.

3rd and fucking 38?? this team always seems to have a self destruct mechanism at the ready when things don't go their way. they had a 14-6 lead and have let the jets man handle them since. wtf is that shit, sean payton?

Jets call two running plays and a timeout in a situation that only called for three kneel downs. But hey, where did I play my ball?

it's frustrating to see how different this team is on the road, especially when the temperatures are under 50 degrees. they needed to run the ball against this defense and payton refuses. then his old reliable that he let go, ivory, has probably the game of his life.

Everyone made this game Rex vs. Rob Ryan, but the real contest was Sean Payton vs. Rex, and Rex coached circles around Payton.

I agree.

This is a game the Saints should have won, but the Jets have not been averse to upsetting some big favorites this year. They beat the Falcons on the road (Julio Jones was healthy for that won) and the Patriots before winning this one against the Saints. I don't know how beating the Saints jibes with losing by 40 points to the Bengals just last week, but I think it's safe to say that Ryan is doing a great job this year. While they're not contenders, they are a team you have to take seriously if you're playing them.

2 starters in the defensive backfield were out. They were on the road facing a desperate team. An ex-Saint had the game of his life & they played like crap today. It happens. For every team. Next.

A few years ago they started 13-0. Entered the playoffs on a "horrid" three game losing streak and with questions galore about their heart. It meant absolutely nothing as time did in fact tell.

I still stand by my preseason prediction.

That Saints fans will continue to be goons all season long?

If feeling that way floats your boat, fine. Sorry you've had that experience, there is no place for low class assholes shaping the image of a team's fanbase.

Even the Cubbies
