Who do you start next week? Not long ago this would have been a silly question but McCown has run this offense better than Cutler ever has. They play with great pace and he makes good decisions. This is Kyle Orton football but with better offensive weapons.

Cutler doesn't need to rush back. Give him that extra week to heel. Have him active for the game in case McNown sucks. Then he comes in.

That's how you handle it.

But, when Cutler is fully healthy, of course he starts.

The Bears nosedive of two years ago had a backup win no games. This year mcCown has done really well and no need to rush Cutler back. They are in the mix, Cutler is still the starter and gives the best chance to win.

This win means you give him at least 1 more week off. Now if McCown continues to play the way he has for the last 6 quarters you may have to make some tough decisions. I don't think their is anyone around that doesn't believe Jay has more talent but that doesn't always win you games.

What is he, a dog? I do agree though -- no need to rush him back and everything appears to be moving along OK on offense, so I wouldn't put Cutler back just yet.

A groin pull is nothing to fool around with. I'd give him another week off. As far as resigning him, that answer is YES. You just can't afford to fool around at the QB position. Franchise tag only though.

I was waiting all night for McCown to make a bad throw. It didn't happen. He looks shockingly impressive running this offense.

Given that McCown has played at a high level, I don't see any reason to rush Cutler back. If he is 100% healthy, I'd prefer he starts against Detroit, but there's no need to rush this. This game could decide their playoff fate - if they lose to Detroit both times this season, that really makes it difficult to make the playoffs IF GB gets Rodgers back in the next few weeks.

Given the Trestman track record (Gannon etc.) maybe Cutler isn't worth the investment.

Definately McCown next week and let Cutler heal.

Next season?? Not sure I would pay Cutler 16M via the franchise tag...

I wonder if this early speculation of Cutler's return is simply gamesmanship by the Bears to make Detroit have to plan for both.

There were several throws Mc Cown didn't make that Cutler would have. This game would have been a blowout with Cutler. Mc Cown did fine for a spot starting replacement.

If Cutler is ready, he starts. If not, this is a really easy stretch of games after the Lions and he is not needed until Cowboys.

Packers defense really couldn't generate much on McCown and couldn't stop the run because McCown could actually throw the ball. I'm sure its a different story with Matthews in the game, but I would let Cutler heal another week and play McCown. In all honesty, I can't see either of them beating the Lions, mostly because I think the defense will look much worse with an actual QB in there. How much did Lacy run off on them? 200 yards?

Is it possible there were also some completions McCown made that Cutler may not have made (accuracy-wise)? Such as the first TD pass. There were also some throwaways that Cutler may have forced into INTs. You never know.

I'm not saying McCown is better, though.

There were some poor throws, but many more drops by the receivers on catch-able balls.

McCown is not a better thrower than Cutler, but he seems to be pretty good with game management and limited the mental mistakes. Exactly what you expect from a backup. Like Kyle Orkman.

Do you throw Jordan Palmer out there just to see how unskilled a QB can actually run this offense? If so, don't you feel more comfortable with the chances of getting a cheaper QB than Cutler in the offseason, either a decent veteran or someone in the draft?
