With the exception of Emerils and Delmonicos in New orleans, each celeb place I have ever been too, has been average or below average?

Now I see the HOB in chicago has a new menu designed by "Aaron Sanchez", big freaking wow! I just figure that means I am paying $3 more for a "Aaron" Quesa-DILLA, than the old one they had one menu!

I loved Emeril's NOLA.
Last time I was in Vegas I tried Ramsay's Burgr. The in-n-out was 5 times better and 10 times cheaper.

I prefer the old school places in New Orleans, Tujague's, Arnaud's, Galatoire's, Antoine's. But the, I like old school places anywhere. Give it up one time for Petey's Bungalow!

That was a good place. Do they still have the second one at 159th and LaGrange?

I have never been there, but I think Petey's 2 still exists.

There should be a Johnny Garlic's in every city.

I haven't been to many...Everybody I know loves flays restaurants. I'd like to try a batali restaurant but reviews are mixed. I've heard good stuff about topolobampo and frontera and I think the commercial products are good.

I wish the best restaurants would move away from being steak places.

Went there to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Loved it. The whole experience was outstanding. Ate escargot ravioli, beef tongue, pig face, and of course goat in addition to more normal things. I'm not one to eat such eclectic food, but when in Rome. Highly recommend it.

my friend told me if you get there right when they open you can get a seat at the bar and still have a meal...you'd just have to put up with eating at the bar.

I had a surprisingly good meal at Graham Elliott's. GF wanted to go since seeing him on Master Chef.

Went there a few years ago with my wife (I think I posted a review on this board) and found it to be really good and worth the money. Bonus is that you don't have to dress up -- jeans are promoted as the proper attire.

Aren't most of these "celeb" places just owned by corporate conglomerates, and they are just slapping the name of the chef on the front door?

The whole concept of a chef being a celeb is ridiculous. It's spawned a generation of douches in the same vein as reality TV

perhaps you forgot Julia Child, Graham Kerr, Justin Wilson, Yan Can Cook, Frugal Gourmet, etc (moment of silence please)

"celebrity" chefs aren't really anything new, it's just gotten out of hand like most everything else

Whoa! Marty's a cool guy, but he's been in this country for fifty years. You think he'd know that it's pronounced "shrimP" and not "shrim" after all those years.
