So I've got a shit ton of candy here.

Throw it at cars driving by your house the next couple days.

you can't cancel Halloween!
only cities and towns are allowed to do that

i had a pretty modest amount of people come by my place...including one group of teenagers, some of whom were not wearing costumes
i pointed this out to them and as they were wearing their high school athletic sweatshirts, one told me they were "student athletes"
of course the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode flashed in my mind and i didn't want any trouble, so i gave them all candy without arguing with them

I only had 3 bags and was cleaned out in 20 minutes. I got to hand out to kids on my street so that is all
I was really worried about. Once I turned my light off I didn't have anyone else come to the door. All in
all pretty painless. Quite a few high school aged kids.

Just give them some candy. Don't fuck with teenagers. They will egg your house, TP your trees, or something much worse.

A guy I knew from high school who is doing 10-20 years right now would agree.

How bout the dumbasses who are home but put out a bucket of candy for everyone to "take one." Of course the first kid there takes the whole thing, leading everyone else to schlep up the steps to find they got bupkis.

Same for us. We even put out the bowl and nobody took it. It wasn't too bad yesterday. It was rainy but not cold, but the rain still kept people in. Some people by us really get into it. A guy was sitting on his porch with the bowl next to him. When they reached for it he'd move. It was pretty funny. Lots more people decorating too.

As were were leaving a party last night some kids were putting on their shoes to go outside. I was standing by the door waiting for my kids to get thier stuff and my husband was saying goodbyes. One little one that doesn't like to have wet feet didn't want to put her socks and shoes on so she was going to stay in. She started to cry because she wanted to go outside and not be left behind. One of her friends came to her and asked what was wrong. She told her my stuff is all wet and I can't wear it but I want to go with you guys. Her friend said I don't want you to be sad so I'll stay in. Then one by one they said yeah let's just stay in we don't want any of our friends to be sad or left out.

I had almost zero Halloween candy this year, not even a rock. But alas....I didn't go trick or treat either.

Had two bags of Peanut M&Ms today though. :D
