Hell, I still do things today too. When I took my wife to see Michael Buble (go ahead make fun of that) halfway to Indianapolis I looked at her and said "you grabbed the tickets, right?" knowing they were in my jacket pocket. She freaked out for about 5 seconds, until I pulled the tickets out of my jacket. When someone I know is backing up their car, I'll smack the fender/trunk with my hand (not hard enough to do any damage, but enough to make a noise) and when they freak out (usually jumping out of the car to see what they hit) I laugh my ass off. 2 years ago I put cheese whiz in the finger holes of a guy's bowling ball. The rest of the league laughed their asses off and still talk about it. Is any of that stuff "bullying"? No.....stupid and immature? Perhaps. But it's just innocent stuff. Lighten up Francis.

Im sure Steve was the victim of hazing in his short lived attempt at a career in law enforcement.

We had guys fly in from California and New Jersey as well as drive in from places like Shabbona and Mt. Vernon. Not everyone found it feasible to make it. I had to pick guys up at the airport and they stayed at my house for a night or two. Just as there were guys who couldn't make it to Homecoming last month, it's just not always possible or practical.

About the only thing that comes to mind (and I did likewise to others after) was when one of the guys took the keys out of my squad car after I went into the mall to take a shoplifter into custody. I get the perp into the back seat, sit in the drivers seat and realize the car is not running and the keys are missing. The guy who did it and the watch commander were watching from a distance and waited to see what I might do. I called for backup, with a disabled vehicle and they drove over with my keys, laughing. I laughed too and it was no big deal. Initially, I thought some teenager on a dare or some punk that had a problem with Police Officers must have taken them. It was a great relief that wasn't the case. That happened only a few weeks after graduating from the academy and it was something done to all new officers.

If you read the first page of this thread, you would have seen how I was highly critical of Jonathon Martin and detailed some of the awful things he did. He went FAR beyond innocent pranks and is just a bad guy.

It's interesting though, that you suggest using the ignore feature while responding to my posts.....Hmmmm can you say hypocritical?I thought that ya could.

I'm about 99% certain that if someone put cheese whiz in the finger holes of my bowling ball, they'd be wearing that bowling ball up their ass.

I find it difficult to believe that you honestly would view ES to be the kind of person who would understand the line you don't cross, nor capable of having good ideas of who wouldn't have issues with it. Certainly not given his posting history here.

Being a prankster doesn't necessarily make one an asshole or coward, simply trying to be a big dog in the group at the expense of others does. Most of us recognize that, too many don't.

Nothing like a message board tough guy. But in real life you have to do things, not just write about doing them.

That particular incident involved a close friend that I played softball with for many years. We play Basketball together and bowl together as well. I knew pretty well how it would play out . I have put bumper stickers on his can at softball games and put one of those decals that makes it look like you have a busted windshield on his Mercedes as well.

I'm quite serious about this one. Something like that isn't funny. It's being an asshole.

I love me some pranks. That is fairly destructive. Thusly, not funny.

And you're an idiot for thinking it is.

It's a dick move. Someone doesn't get that shit out right, and it can get on the lanes/approaches/etc. Can mess with people other than your intended victim. Let me guess. You like to dunk your teammates shoes in water, too. Is that how you had a high average, shithead?

I'm ignoring the bed wetter shit because that's just you being the big jock asshole that you are.

Much like Reader, I took my lumps as a kid, but declined to give them back because I didn't find it necessary for team unity.

Why would I dunk anyone's shoes in water? That makes no sense to me. Why would he have cleaned the ball out on the lane? Of course, he cleaned it in the seated area. Is that how I had a high average? How does whatever I did to someone else's ball have any effect on MY score? Also, if you ask Chus, he would say that my average was not high, even though my latest book average is my highest (196) that I have had for a season. But thanks for calling it a high average, since some argue it's not.

I'm guessing it's based on a true story ... it was his bowling ball, and everyone did laugh and still talk about it.

I think what we've learned through the course of this thread is that Elmhurst Steve is truly just an unoriginal conformist, who will do what he thinks will get him accepted by his "peers" because that is what he truly craves. Acceptance.

The reason he brags about things like hazing his teammates is because he thinks that by puffing his chest out, it will make him accepted by more people.

He can deny all he likes, and I full anticipate that he will, but that is the truth of an Elmhurst Steve.

Hope you have a great softball season, champ, and I hope the mixed league goes well for you too.

Seacrest has paid for my silence on the tales of your bowling, and the lies that follow. But, since you felt the need to drag me into this, I will say this. A quick check of your USBC averages, shows that you averaged 195 in a short summer league. Not bad, but certainly not great. But, there are also some low averages, such as 167, 176, and 180. If you add them all up, I would imagine you would be in the 180-185 range, so I'm not sure about what it is that you are bragging.

You average 195 ONE TIME, in a short season, and you brag about how awesome you are. I average 205-215 year in, and year out, and I recognize that I am just a guy, who would get lit up by many people at any house.

I'm not sure what I find more disturbing, your lack of self-awareness, or your childlike need for attention.

If I ever take up bowling, I will never misrepresent my scoring average on the Chicago Sports Fan Message Board. Chus is a fanatical bowling purist bloodhound.
