As Mongo said today, we have yet to get the whole story. There must be reasons why this guy was universally unaccepted. But we may never get the rest of the story, because players rarely are willing to violate the sanctity of the locker room.

So do you now agree with this nomination?

Your stance seems to have changed. Does it have to do with how you have lived your life of "pranks"?

So if someone isn't universally accepted or loved by everyone that makes it ok to mistreat someone? To bully them?

I'm disappointed that Don Tiny has not shown up already with a photo of Mongo (Alex Karras from Blazing Saddles) punching the horse.

I'll say this: ES is not the only person on this board that thinks Martin is 100% to blame.

Speak up.

I don't think Martin is 100% to blame by any means. But I don't think Incognito or the rest of the O-line is 100% to blame either. There is blame shared by Incognito, the O-line as a whole AND Martin. It may end up costing Joe Philbin his job too. It's expected that the head coach will maintain control of a team and maintain order. It would seem that was not the case in Miami.

I don't understand how Martin can get any blame. What exactly did he do wrong? The stuff coming out of Miami seems to be "None of us liked him and we all made his life hell".

Not being liked by a bunch of roided up meatheads isn't a crime. No offense to anyone in this thread who may qualify for that grouping.

Isn't it obvious?
Martin is black.
Incognito is white.

I still would like to know who beat Martin after a bad lunchroom prank.

Jimmy Johnson said Martin pulled the "get up and leave the table" to someone the week earlier in the lunchroom.

Is that true? How does Jimmy know?

Probably Jeff Ireland, too. But that guy has been a pud for a while, and there are some who don't understand how he still has a job.

I hate myself for this:

I agree with BRick 100%. Martin did NOTHING wrong.

He was harassed by an insane thug. On a basic level, it is never ok to treat another human being like that. It's even worse because there are federal laws in place to ensure that you cannot treat a co-worker like that.

The common arguments in favor of Incognito/Dolphins are:

1. "You can't compare it to the rest of the workforce because their salaries are way bigger than ours":  .......No. IF Bill Gates was "toughened up" by a peer, he wouldn't be better at being.......Bill Gates.

2. "Toughness is required for that job and Incognito was trying to make him tougher": :| Military soldiers will not be better soldiers if a rogue (fellow) soldier decides to go to extremes to make them "tougher". If so, I can think of plenty of examples to refute that.

Martin had already beaten the odds - both with skill and toughness. He was a starting NFL lineman that was drafted in a high position due to his success at the college level. No "outside of the box" methods that Incognito would have employed would make Martin better.

Here's a crazy choice for Incognito:

1: Help Martin with his footwork, hand skills, fitness, training, etc.
- OR -
2: Make him pay for your trips to the strip clubs while you call him every single degrading term you can think of to all of his fellow teammates (and to him personally).

One of those will make him a better player/teammate.

That's not at all what you said in your post, where you quoted Mongo.

I don't know if it's the entire organization trying to cover their ass but it sounds as if Martin was as innocent as the media is making him out to be. There are still questions that need to be answered and my guess is litigation will prevent them from being answered now.

Breaking News, Martin had Skittles and Iced Tea in the lunchroom, therefore all that hazing was absolutely justified.

This guy (Martin) was awfully busy with his tape recorder. His attorney alleges that one of his teammates (not Incognito) claimed he was "gonna run train" on his (Martin's) sister. "She loves me. I am going to fu_k her without a condom and cum in her cu_t." Apparently he taped the statement, just as he taped the one in which Incognito referred to him as a half Nig_er and threatened him with bodily harm. No, there is no doubt as to whether this guy was treated awfully at times. But I can't help but wonder why his teammates would choose him to pick on as much as they did. Why was he singled out and ostracized by the rest of the O-line as he was? I hope more information continues to leak out and eventually the WHOLE story is out. It will be interesting to see who gets a job with another NFL team first....Incognito or Martin or neither?

I never thought of it that way. We should blame the victim.

Wait - a guy was habitually harassing and intimidating this Martin character, and this Martin fella has the nerve to gather proof of it???

it's pretty clear both of these jocks have personality disorders. is there any reason to continue a discussion about meatheads who can barely put together cogent thoughts trying to figure out who the victim is? clearly it's anybody who has had to be exposed to this non-story.

So Steve, are you implying that someone taping an encounter in which someone is causing trouble is odd or unusual cause that's kinda strange coming from a failed police officer.

According to the Sun Sentinal, just before Incognito's racially charged phone call was made, Dolphins coaches asked Incognito to "toughen Martin up" This was after Martin had declined participation in a voluntary workout in the spring. Again, before this is over there is going to be a lot of blame divided between parties and I will be shocked if both Philben and the GM aren't both fired.

Interestingly, the team's QB Ryan Tannehill says that Incognito was the guy closest to Martin on the team. He says that Incognito was the first guy to stand up for Martin on and off the field and when guys hung out together off the field. it was Incognito and Martin that hung out together the most. Lots of things that don't make a lot of sense here.

I can't believe how much Martin did wrong in this scenario.
