The San Francisco Giants re-signed RHP Tim Lincecum to a 2yr/$35M contract.

And it begins. Lincecum also get a full no-trade clause. For that kind of money I guess we can eliminate any thoughts of him being converted to a closer.

The Freak definitely isn't as dominating as he once was but I wouldn't say he sucks. He still made 32 starts and threw almost 200 innings and I think he was much better in the 2nd half. He's still only 29 years old and if he did figure something out this contract could be a very good one for the Giants.

The Royals are ready to listen to offers for Billy Butler this winter.

It sounds like the Royals are looking to trump last off seasons dumb move with a dumber move this off season. Sheesh. The Royals......

Tim Lincecum:

2012: Age 28, ERA 5.18, 33 GS, 186.0 IP, 1.468 WHIP
2013: Age 29, ERA 4.37, 32 GS, 197.2 IP, 1.315 WHIP

Edwin Jackson:

2012: Age 28, ERA 4.03, 31 GS, 189.2 IP, 1.218 WHIP
2013: Age 29, ERA 4.98, 31 GS, 175.1 IP, 1.460 WHIP

That $35M deal makes Edwin Jackson look better.

Its a little too much for Lincecum, but maybe its a reward for being a huge part of two World Series teams.

Also, the two year thing is good.

Royals exercised RHP James Shields' $13.5 million club option for the 2014 season.

Another no-brainer considering what they gave up to acquire him.

Yankees re-signed SS Derek Jeter to a 1/$12M contract.

Good deal for both sides as Jeter should be healthy from his ankle injuries. In a weird twist the bump in salary (Jeter had a $9.5M option) actually saves the Yankees money against the luxury tax which they are deperately trying to get under.

Salty sure cost himself some cash by being shitty in the playoffs.

Yeah, on a couple of those throws if could have just kept them inside the stadium it would have helped.

I have to say that one of the highlights of this last miserable baseball season was watching A.J. "Rat Face" Burnett's start in the playoffs where he posted a stellar 31.50 earned run average in a classic two (2) innings, six (6) hits and four (4) walks performance. Ha ha ha! He sure is a great pressure pitcher! Ha ha ha! Yes, and the Nazis were at their best when fighting in the Russian winter! Hoo hoo hoo!

It was like being transported in a time machine back to the bad old days when no lead was safe with this hillbilly on the mound.

I am quite certain that the Lord loves A.J. Burnett. God Almighty is powerful, forgiving and loving and, as far as I can tell, A.J. Burnett has not committed any horrible sins like murder or bestiality - that could be proven. A.J. Burnett is guilty of being a horrible pitcher - that is not a violation of any rule of God of which I am aware. On several occasions, while watching A.J. Burnett pitch, I had a horrible burning, acidic feeling in my stomach, and I swore like a sailor. While I am certain that this acidic burning in my stomach was not a healthy thing, it cannot be said for certain that A.J. Burnett was intentionally trying to assassinate me.

I have never claimed to be as Great as the Mighty and Loving Lord. So I do not love A.J. Burnett.

David Dejesus re-ups with Rays. 2 years 10.5 million . Damn its good to be left handed and average. Hopefully the cash will keep Kim hottied up for a few more years.

I just don't get that signing. Smart baseball men are seeing something that all the dumb fans don't,I guess.

I thought DeJesus was alright when he was with the Cubs. Not great or anything but there have been much bigger piles of crap that were crapped on the northside.

NO. He sucked. Kasper kept talking up his OBP while neglecting the fact he was batting .255 with little power. I'm just saying, you can bring up anybody from the minors who can at least approach that. I don't see a 10 mil contract for 3 mil talent.

10 MIL for 2 years definitely seems to be a bit much but MLB contracts are ridiculous right now

The Phillies have reached an agreement on a two year deal with free agent outfielder Marlon Byrd. Byrd's two year deal is worth $16M.

The Phillies better hope the testing program doesn't catch up to him in the next couple years.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Wednesday that the team will not sign Brian Wilson. The Yankees have a team policy on facial hair and Wilson's agent told the club that Wilson will not shave his trademark beard.

I hope his arm blows up. Fuckin idiot.
