Another Jewish guy handed a job for no apparent reason who has become the darling of all the Left Wingers on the East Coast went on a "Rip Chicago" rant. Hey , all big cities blow but when he tries to rip deep dish pizza, that's taking it too far.
I have tried watching this idiot conduct an interview on a number of occasions. He acts like Dick Cavett on coke....no thanks!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/loca ... 9813.story

Deep dish pizza? How about "tomato soup in a bread bowl." Or a "(expletive) casserole" that should be served with "canned onion rings on top."

And that was some of the nicer things Jon Stewart had to say about Chicago pizza during a ranting segment on the Daily Show that started with the One World Trade Center in New York City beating out Willis Tower as the country's tallest building.

Stewart then knocked one of Chicago's points of pride: deep dish.

"When I look at your deep dish (expletive) pizza, I don't know whether to eat it or throw a coin in it and make a wish," Stewart says. "And if I made a wish, it would be that I'd wish for some real (expletive) pizza."

Noting how cold and windy Chicago winters can be, Stewart wondered whether we "cut it open and climb inside of it . . .to keep warm."

He even took a few swipes at the Chicago hot dog, making fun of -- celery salt.

The Daily Show's Facebook page was deluged with reaction this morning, a lot of the posts using unprintable adjectives. But one defender of Chicago did admit, "Actually, crispy onions sounds kinda good on a pizza."

As a matter of fact, I'm reasonably certain he ganked the line about "tomato soup in a bread bowl" and "it's not a pizza, it's a casserole" from the comment section of that Deadpsin piece on state foods.

Was your unwitting paraphrase of Randy Newman's "Rednecks" a bit?

I don't think it's exactly open to interpretation.

Just call it a casserole and that will solve everything. It's not pizza. 10/19/13 10:16pm

Thank you. Chicago style pizza is like a sauce bowl with some cheese at the bottom. Fuckin gross.

People take items of 'civic pride' a bit too seriously. You shouldn't give a fuck if someone hates deep dish, likes extra ketchup on their hot dog or thinks the name Windy City is weather related.

If we were really classifying "pizza" then New York style would barely qualify. It's more like bread or a cracker with cheese on it. If they forgot the sauce completely most wouldn't even notice.

Deep dish pizza displeases me.

Celery salt, however, is awesome on a hot dog.

Deep dish is overrated. Give me thin crust any day.

The thing is that even if you don't like deep dish pizza, thin crust pizza in Chicago is far superior to NYC pizza too.

Sicilian pizza is good though but not as good as deep dish.

Deep dish is crap. Give me thin, wispy crust pie all day. You can keep your hot dogs, too.

Exactly. Deep-dish pizza is for the tourists.

What? They poke fun at themselves at award shows. Try to find me about 5 Irish Producers in Hollywood.
I guess it's all just one amazing coincidence. I do think there are a lot of talented people in Hollywood who happen to be Jewish. Stewart is just an MTV reject who got a job because the people making the decisions (IE:Jewish execs, who run MTV,Comedy Central, etc.) thought he was saying something witty because he yells and talks fast...He Sucks!

"Stewart" is Scottish. Payne Stewart used to wear the Stewart family plaid every year at the British Open.

Deep-dish is good once or twice a year, preferably in the dead of winter, and no more than that. Thin-crust is best for regular pizzaing.

Never had honest-to-god New York pizza but the description of "big floppy soggy cracker" doesn't really get me goin'.

I enjoy deep dish pizza but I can see why others dont care for it. I love cheese so the more cheese you can deliver into my system the better off I feel.

The magic of deep-dish is the crust. Perfect solution: make thin-crust with deep-dish dough.

Just out of curiosity, if you were compiling a list, who are the Top 5 Jewish guys who have been handed a job for no apparent reason?

I had Pequod's last weekend. I feel like they could make their deep dish dough half as thick, and it would be a much better pizza.

This paragraph does more to diminish Chicago than anything Jon stewart could ever possibly say.
