I see the hypocrisy in it. That being said it is still a plus. If I murdered 20 people you probably wouldn't care as much if I saved your life. I imagine some of us here were almost aborted. If someone talked our mother out of it we are thankful.

I never told anyone they were going to burn in hell. I have criticized silly, ineffective, self-serving methods for deterring evil. If that makes me the judgemental one, I guess I was wrong. I am judgemental. I'll have to consult the Gospels for guidance.

There is a huge difference. In one case you are responsible for taking the life and in the other case you aren't. If you kill someone and I didn't stop you I am not responsible for that death. I won't get charged for murder.

Someone that can convince someone (without being violent) to not have life sucked out of them is doing good. You may not like the tactics but the results are good.

So you knew of a murder that was likely to happen and did nothing to stop it? Call the police? Tell the future victim? I agree you don't have to step in front of a flying bullet, but not saving a life becuase it may cause you some modicum of risk or discomfort is obviously not going to fly in the eyes of Jesus.

I could sell my house and send $100,000 to Africa so they could build a well and water treatment unit that would likely (almost certainly) save lives. But I don't want to sacrifice my comfort and my family's comfort. I'm as low as you can get IMO. Morally corrupt as anyone.

What are you talking about? What does that have to do with what the people do outside of an abortion clinic? You may have said a kind word to someone that was going to commit suicide one day. You kindness could have made them change their mind. There are many ways that you can help people. No one said you need to give away what you have. We all do what we believe is best.

Could one envision a scenario where a woman made the decision to have an abortion for financial reasons? What if with an additional $10,000 she would make a different decision? I'm sure there are women like that out there. But I'm not looking for them. I don't want them to find me!

Well I just wrote a long (for me) post but it disappeared. I will try to summarize.

I won't give $10,000 to save a life
I expect woman to spend many multiples of that to save a life.
I judge her in the name of Jesus when she choses not to.
Obvious hypocrisy abounds, ending with a WHO YA CRAPPIN?

Thanks to Nas for civil discussion. Some background about how I got weak and entered into an internet debate. Weakness stems from frustration at how the face of Jesus has been tarnished over the years.

Those will be my last thoughts on the matter. Still awaiting GD to come and tell us the truth.
