Yes. The guy whose odds are currently 40-1 to win the Heisman, which puts him behind about ten guys. He won't be invited to NY, which unfortunately means, that he isn't a candidate.
First let me state that I agree that Lynch has no realistic chance of winning or really competing for the Heisman. However, in terms of the odds you mentioned, I assume they change each week. Increased exposure + extraordinary stats = more votes. A strong performance on national TV last night. Another televised game coming up. A 2nd article in Sports Illustrated (maybe). I could see him moving into the top 6 if NIU stays undefeated and JL continues to play at his current pace.

Denied. All of the top football teams players pad their stats. Why don't you DB the Alabama players when they trounce a lousy team by 50 points?

Probably Northwestern and Penn State too. Not that NIU couldn't beat them, they just wouldn't every time.

Ohio st is a pretender, i can't wait til they get embarrassed in their bowl game by Stanford or Oregon . nobody in the big ten should be ranked in the top 15, niu could hang with any of them.

No. They can barely hang with Iowa.

In all fairness, they hung with the #2 in the country currently, less than a year ago.

It was 17-10 going into the 4th quarter of the Orange Bowl where NIU was playing a team with home field advantage.

That's hanging where I live.

You can say that about a lot of teams though, including my terrible one.

Last year's FSU team wasn't nearly as good as this year's team. They smoked Miami and Clemson this year.

And last time I checked, a football game is 60 minutes.

I'm probably being too emotional about this.

Last year, more players were drafted from FSU than any other school in the country. Including the 1st QB taken. Last year's team was pretty damn good.

You judge how good a team is by how many players get drafted? Good college players are not always good pros. See: Tim Tebow. Yes, Manuel was the first QB taken, but it was a bad class for QBs. I don't see the relevance in that.

Winston is better than Manuel, and their defense is even better than last year. This year's team isn't losing to NC State, and squeaking by other conference foes, they are destroying everybody.

They are a better team this year. I don't know how anybody could dispute that.

Jordan Lynch was 15-41.

They got pounded, 31-10. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated.

You can't dispute the facts, so you take a shot at me? I'm not going to take it there.

What is your evidence that I am no longer even keeled? Because I defended my stance with facts? Guilty as charged.

NIU is just like a Big Ten team, in that they also think they can compete with the elite in other conferences when the evidence indicates otherwise.

Down ONE score with 15 minutes left in a game is "hanging" with the other team.
