That's a no gouda.

But people want cheap, disposable stuff. Low cost, if it breaks you buy another. That's what people have been programmed to think like, that and rising costs of living, declining wages etc have pushed people into the big box stores. The same big box stores that bribe their way in, kill local businesses and then hire those displaced workers for a fraction of what they made prior.

If you look up the top 10 wealthiest people in the US, 4 of them are from the Walton Family, that should tell you how much money this company makes.

you could add the total sales from Target, Costco, Sears, and Kroger, and still not equal Wal-Mart’s annual sales.

I think they can afford a "Thanksgiving day" package to any employee that requested it.
