Pappy just said that when Soriano comes back, he should bat second behind Theriot, and Theriot is the prototypical lead off man.

Didn't hear it, but coming off quads, Soriano will not be leading off . . . for a while.

But it's in his contract!

Theriot has been doing a great job up top, and I'd leave him there for the time being. I have a hard time believing that Soriano is going to be a base stealing threat and/or playing at 100%. I'd consider him at #2, but I think #5 would be fine too.

I don't see anything controversial in this statement. That's not Mike North - it's someone posing as Mike North.

Maybe a little too much love for Theriot, but not that crazy way off.

One out of two isn't bad. Theriot should remain at lead off and Soriano should go to fifth. You can't have Soriano batting second if Theriot leads off because then that's too many right-handed bats in a row.

I don't think Soriano should hit second. Too many K's.
