You can go ahead and cut him whenever. I'd take George Bush over Michael anytime. Hell I'd take George Michael.

I'd take my bush:

Burning
Dry
Smelly
Aids infested
Shaved
Hairy
Bloody
Doubled stuffed
Sloppy seconds
Herpes
Old
Sibling
Animal

Anything but that Bush.

Seven carries for negative five yards.

I always wondered this season why he wasn't used in more two RB sets to take advantage of his and Forte's pass-catching skills. Obviously the Bears were more aware of his declining skills than I was.

I wonder who they'll pick up next year as the second back. Perhaps they go younger since Forte is entering the red flag age range for a RB.

Bears are 0-2 with FA RB's that had good reps coming in.

In fairness you can tell Forte the same thing most of the time.

MB III didn't have a good rep. He got run out of Dallas iirc.

I don't know what you mean here. Forte went nearly 5 yards per carry this game, and is around 4.5 for the year. Those numbers don't reflect someone who has an issue breaking tackles.

I was thinking of Barber and Bush (joke in there somewhere) I forgot all about Taylor.

Better off getting a scrapheap guy.

I said "most of the time". Just because he breaks the occasional tackle and goes for 30 to skew his average every blue moon doesn't negate his slow feet, poor running and candle-like tendencies a lot of the rest of the time.

Forte makes people miss. Bush looks like he hasn't missed a meal in 10 years.

But most good RBs have a few long runs sprinkled in among the 2-5 yard gains every game. While I agree with the poor running if you qualified it as poor running in short-yardage situations, what you've described about the long runs skewing everything else can be true of pretty much all good RBs with the career averages Forte has.

RR and Brees would love to have Forte in New Orleans.

His numbers would be unreal there. At least the Bears are working their way towards that same system. The O-line is better but still not great at run blocking. If they could keep people from hitting Forte in the backfield, he would be unreal here, too. He's already very good as it is.

No. I'd much rather have a rotation of Sproles & Pierre Thomas.

Forte's lost a step, his hands aren't as consistent and appears to be more of a mudder. He may have had too many touches & took too many hits over his first four seasons. It may all be catching up to him quickly imo.

Unfortunately.

He has the 6th most rushing yards in the NFL and without looking I know he has to be in the top 3 in total yards. Sproles is hurt every time you look at him and Pierre Thomas is pedestrian.

Was it Bush who also dropped the TD pass (which was a bit low but certainly catchable)?

And was it Bush who couldn't break the line on the 4th and goal attempt?

Yes! He was responsible for nearly every bad offensive play and he only was in for about 15 snaps.

Was it bush who redefined "split wide" to mean his pants?

His last season in OAK really took its toll on his body. McFadden was out (again) and Bush was completely worn down by Week 12.

Every Bush thread needs a little Hank Scorpio. This is no exception.
