1.) No. Emulation would be near impossible and including actual 360 hardware would be too expensive. But you can play through your Xbox One via HDMI In.

2.) Yes. You can even be logged into the both at the same time.

My middle kid shot out of basketball practice the other night to get in line (he missed the pre buy dates while deciding which platform to get, then working late). He had called around, the local GameStop only had like 4 boxes not presold. Best Buy said "don't worry, we've got enough". He wasn't first in line, but was first to the register! That's when he found out that his debit card on a high school checking account has a $250 limit!!

Yes, Dad did answer the phone and did drive over to complete the purchase for him, (despite needing to get up for work before 4 am). When I walked in at about 12:25, I could have bought as many as I wanted- no line, no waiting!

He loves it- upgraded his COD Ghost and one other game for around $10 each. Says the graphics are just awesome and likes the voice recognition, so far...

Gonna disagree with you on the first question...I've heard various people make statements that have opened the door for backwards compatibility to be a possibility in the future (cloud computing makes pretty much anything possible these days...this is how Sony is saying PS3 backwards compatibility would/could work as well, if I recall correctly)...not saying it's a certainty or even probable to happen...but it's not anywhere near "impossible" technology wise...also, I think it's almost universally accepted that, while the idea of playing a 360 through the HDMI In is possible, the lag makes it a less than pleasant experience.

On the second question, I'm trying to use both a 360 and One at the same time to test this out, but yeah, the same account certainly works across both platforms. I know I've been getting kicked off one 360 if the girlfriend goes to watch something on another, so if the One and a 360 can coexist at the same time that's going to save me from getting a second Xbox Live account.

Streaming the backwards compatibility service is different, i agree that streaming BC will happen down the line. My point was that it's pretty much near impossible to have smoothly functioning B.C on the Xbox One itself. There isn't any 360 hardware in the One for straight hardware eumlation and software emulation would be troublesome, to say the least. Two different architectures.

Like you said, though, I could definitely see a streaming service down the line from M.S.

Also, I've read that the input lag for the HDMI in isn't bad at all.

Huh...gonna have to try it myself at some point...though I'm really digging the TV going through the One, so I'm not in any hurry to try the 360 into it...plus, TV has 4 HDMI in's, so unless I acquire two more HD boxes, I'm good.

Plenty on YouTube showing people snapping between TV, One, Ps3/4, WiiU etc. The One's TV iq self adjuster is supposedly really good as well.

I know I can watch it but it's really hard to tell if there's lag (to the point that it makes a game unplayable or inconvenient) until you actually try it yourself.

So I'm astonished that Some guy is correct and that you can be logged into both a 360 and One with the same profile at the same time (astonished that this works... not that he is correct... :) ).

Also, this doesn't appear to be some oversight or glitch, but an intended effect... Marc Whitten at Microsoft confirmed it way back when during a Q&A...

... however I was just having issues with the 360 signing out a few times while the One was playing TV, so who knows how well it actually works.
