I'm not sure it matters if it's his fault. That's how it works.

Yes. Lynch is the front runner now.

I can't tell if you've actually read the discussion?

What am I serious/not serious about?

I've read the discussion. I have no idea what point you are trying to make with all the "another heisman candidate lost and/or played poorly." Jordan Lynch is not going to win the heisman. It seems pointless for you to constantly bring it up.

I think spanky is arguing for him to be invited to New York. All he needs to be is one of the top-5. Just don't see it though.

Right. I get that. I just don't see why it matters since everybody knows there's no chance whatsoever for Lynch to actually win.

I've never said he would win. Not once. He won't win.

I have said that using the Vegas odds for who will win is a bad way to judge who gets invited. Especially when they invite a different # of people every year.

With every passing game, it seems more and more likely that lynch will get an invite to NY. Many other players keep showing why they won't get invited.

What did A.J. McCarron do today to eliminate himself?

I know you didn't say he would win. I never accused you of saying that. I said I don't see the point of all your posts regarding the heisman race.

So can I get some educated guesses from the college football guys here as to who the 5 heisman finalists will be as of right now?

This is the answer. Not really the media part. Every time Mccarron was mentioned as a contender, it was because he wins so many games. He lost.

Chus - you are the troll in this thread. You took the hard line stance, not me. You make a post, and you are 'replying'. I make a post and I am 'bumping the thread'. You post 'facts' and I post 'emotionally'. All of these are terms you brought to the discussion. I haven't done anything to troll you other than use the terms that you use against me - against you. How does that make me the troll?

Just saying the media needs a narrative and that was his. He deserves to be top 5 but he'll get "dinged" by the same story the media was giving him an advantage with.

This is so true and exactly why the Heisman, like much of College football after December. 1st, is a joke.

Wasn't the original point that Lynch won't get invited to New York? I don't think it's that big of a stretch to say he's one of the 5 best college players right now.

Psycory, your guy Hackenberg might be in this convo soon. What a win.

The home state kid leading the rebirth of a program in shambles.

What a beautiful narrative. :P

Yes. That was the original point.

I feel much more confident he goes to NY now than when the thread started.

Not only a home state kid, but a home county kid (born in Tamaqua). I have a friend here who went to school with his father and uncle. It's kind of a huge deal here.

Jordan Lynch moves into second in USA Today Heisman Poll

Winston was ranked first on 22 ballots and was left off of three to finish with 68 points. Lynch had 30 points and three first-place votes while AJ McCarron of Alabama had 20 points and one first-place vote.

In the BCS era, no player from a non-automatic qualifying conference has won the Heisman trophy, but it looks like Lynch has a great shot to make it to New York as a finalist.

Meanwhile, the race remains in a bit of limbo as Winston remains under investigation for an alleged sexual assault battery incident Dec. 7, 2012, though no charges have been filed as of yet.

Breaking down the ballots (three points are awarded for a first-place vote, two for second and one for third):

1. QB Jameis Winston, Florida State: 22-1-0 = 68

2. QB Jordan Lynch, Northern Illinois: 3-7-7 = 30

3. QB AJ McCarron, Alabama: 1-5-7 = 20

4. QB Braxton Miller, Ohio State: 0-3-6 = 12

5. RB Andre Williams, Boston College: 0-3-2 = 8

6. QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M: 0-3-0 = 6

7. (tie) QB Marcus Mariota, Oregon: 0-1-2 = 4

7. (tie) QB Bryce Petty, Baylor: 0-2-0 = 4

9. QB Derek Carr, Fresno State: 0-1-0 = 2

10. (tie) RB Tre Mason, Auburn: 0-0-1 = 1

10. (tie) RB Ka’Deem Carey, Arizona: 0-0-1 = 1
