The Cardinals have reached agreement with SS Jhonny Peralta on a 4yr/$53M contract.

Holy smokes. 4 yrs and $53M for a 31 yr old juice fuck with range that is evaporating by the second?!? Yeah his WAR is good blah blah fuckin blah how much of that is real and how much is the juice?? It's difficult to argue with anything the Cardinals do because it always seems to work out for them but this one is a real head scratcher.

Peralta also played a bit of OF for Detroit in the playoffs this year. Jhonny has the same juice hook-up as Ortiz, he'll be fine.

Sounds like players are pissed off about this deal.

I agree.Way more than I thought he'd get and happy the Cubs weren't anywhere near that.

No, you're just a Caller Bob who knows very little about baseball. But its so important to you to post about it on this board, that you repeat things that were already posted. You probably wear a fedora that says PRESS on it while you're posting

The Dodgers agreed to terms with Dan Haren on a 1yr/$10M contract. There is also a vesting option for 2015 if Haren reaches 180 innings pitched.

Maybe a slight overpay in dollars but not in years which is surprising considering it's the Dodgers. Haren's velocity has been on the decline for a couple years but he's been durable and won't be asked to do too much in the Dodgers rotation. This is a nice low risk signing.

Keyser has become the new SHARK with the unjustified vitriol for a guy just posting what he finds.

I was thinking the same thing. Where SHARK would just say 'I can't make this stuff up!' Keyser goes with the profanity approach. Both entertain me.

Jhonny seems like a bad sign. Not a Cardinal-like move. I guess the SS market must be pretty weak. I was hoping the Cubs would dump Starlin on them.

The Twins signed RHP Ricky Nolasco to a 4yr/$49M deal. The deal also has a 2018 club option worth $13 million, an option that can vest and turn into a player option based on innings pitched in 2016 and 2017.

The way the owners are throwing around stupid free agent money this off season I thought Nolasco would do better than this. He's a nice addition to the pitching starved Twins starting rotation.

Hard to beleive this is the largest free agent contract ever handed out by the Twins surpassing the 3yr/$21M contract to Josh Willingham.

If Phil Hughes passes a physical he will be a Twin. 24 mil/3 years.

The Twins have agreed to a 3 yr/$24M deal with Phil Hughes.

Ick. I liked the Nolasco deal but this may have canceled it out. Why go three years with a guy who could end up in the bullpen? Sure a change of scenery could help but not only has Hughes been bad he's also been ouchy. This is a big risk for an organization that can't afford to take risks.

The A's and Scott Kazmir have reached an agreement on a 2yr/$22M contract.

Kazmir is a nice story as he came back from a two year absence to have a pretty good year in Cleveland and he's still only 30 years old.
