Lets say Tressman thought the true odds of Gould hitting that FG were 80%.
What are odds the next running play goes for a loss, penalty, or turnover? I dunno, but it could be around 20%.

Not yet convinced this was a terrible decision. But willing to be convinced.

I don't feel like trying to figure it out myself or look it up on a website, but the more aggressive coaching decisions are almost always statistically correct. Playing not to lose is almost always the best way to lose, statistically.
