I think we need a "Larry's Away" alert system, so we know when its safe to turn on the radio. How can we make this happen?

I had my daily thought yesterday while behind the cheese curtain. I flipped on the radio at 1:00 an heard tranny with these guys. It sounded like Larry actually ENJOYS what he's doing and is glad to be there. Now he's not actually good at it, but it struck me that this is not something I was used to at 1:00. It was usually Mac counting down the seconds until he make a dash for the door, rarely saying anything at all.

Now, I can't really call this "refreshing," becuase it was definitely not that. Just a different atmosphere.

So is this like a game where everybody sneaks out of the room leaving me to talk to myself while everyone else is outside the door tittering?

Tuned in at 10:30am and spent the last 7 minutes listening to Larry drag something out for 6 minutes too long. He does this all the time, filling air time with absolute nonsense and acting like it's cutting edge. Meat should have shut him up after a couple minutes and moved on to something else, but clearly Meat has packed it in anyway, and has no ability to stand big and tall next to Larry.

I used to listen to this show every day, tuning out only when fantasy football talk came on. But now I can barely make it 30 minutes a day, and that's even dwindling.

I can imagine Matt is working on guitar tabs for a show tonight while Larry is rambling on about something.

That's an excellent point, Hatchet. Leery is one of the few people at the station who seems to show up for work each day bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and acts like he wants to be there. He does show prep, has a variety of guests, and seems to put a lot of thought into segments. The problem is that those segments often suck and his personality is so bad that it should be bottled and sold as the world's most effective form of birth control.

From the mess my FaceySpace feed is, they seem to be more focused on promoting what their gonna be doing than actually doing a quality show. Thanks for the 7 updates doing a countdown to Konerko being on. I wasn't sure what the first 2 posts meant. (I won't turn on the radio until Charch. And will PTFB as soon as he leaves until after Tranny)

Caught the interview with the guys and Konerko on my way back from lunch. I only caught about 10 minutes
of it including the end but I have to assume that was a majority of it. Thought it was a very good chat with
Paulie and was glad that Meat was the one who controlled it. I don't care what anyone says, he knows his
baseball and asks thoughtful and solid questions. I was actually surprised to hear Konerko on with them and
he was brutally honest about his role on the team and his thoughts on whether or not he should really come back.
Nice job guys.

Meat did a good job but Leery is an idiot. In a previous answer Pauly said last seasons failure played a big part in his decision to return. A couple questions later Leery asked him how big last season was in his decision to return. Dope.

I like Meat. I always enjoyed him and Mac. Larry is just weird, pandering, and annoying after a long listen.

I feel like we are long overdue for the segment where Leary asks listeners to call in and suggest which member of the Marvel Universe Lance Briggs most reminds them of. Scintillating radio, and it plants a fantasy in Leary's mind for when he returns to his lonely condo in Hyde Park. Clutching a Huck Finn donut in one hand, and well...you know the rest.

He's lived in that same condo for several years now. To quote the movie Bridesmaids "I went to pick up towel by the shower and it snapped in half."

:puker:
