While it is fairly tasteless, I have to admit that I did laugh...

Oh, I laughed too. But more of a, how the fuck can anyone be stupid enough to think that's a good idea sort of thing. Maybe it's a joke in a team meeting.

Agreed. The joke itself is not very funny, but the stupidity behind someone actually putting that up on a business sign is hilarious.

It's Murphy's...do you really think they have a true braintrust running the place?

Exactly. Taking it a step further, its Wrigleyville. There is no bigger collection of morons anywhere in the metro area on Friday and Saturday nights.

Yes. I've heard the owner on the radio a few times. She sounds completely sane.

T-Box is this Saturday. One of the most glorious days ever to people watch in Wrigley. The area will be a bigger gongshow than any Cubs game.

Are we still ok to use "Pearl Harbor Job" to describe sneak attacks a la Gorilla Monsoon?

The owner of Murphy's is a total loon. I'm pretty sure she said that the business would be just as, if not more successful, without the Cubs.

She should have put up a sign about giving away free necklaces in memory of Nelson Mandela.

This event is UNREAL. The single worst day of the year in Wrigleyville! Just funny that this is not a concern to the Alderman, but the Cubs games are. This event is so bad that they need security guys every 50 feet on Clark to make sure people dont run drunk into traffic, all day. This is the single biggest day of vandalism, puking, pissing, shitting, etc. 30,000 expected!

30,000!!!! and its ALL DAY. Bars open at 9AM, Puking starts at NOON

I am going to WI that day.

Holiday bar crawl. Their "thing" is to throw cereal in the air. Last year this happened:

Quote:
WRIGLEYVILLE — The victim of a beer bottle stabbing during a Wrigleyville holiday bar crawl was bleeding so much he looked "like Friday the 13th," said a bar security manager, referring to the slasher films.

The gruesome scene unfolded after midnight during Saturday's Twelve Bars of Christmas, or TBOX, a pub crawl that starts at about 8 a.m. and continues late into the night. A man allegedly jumped out of a bathroom stall at sports bar Red Ivy, 3525 N. Clark St., and stabbed another man in the neck with a broken beer bottle, police said. A man who saw the attack came to victim's aid and helped keep the offender at bay until officers arrived, police said.

Both the victim and the alleged assailant, a 23-year-old man from Uptown, wore holiday gear such as ugly Christmas sweaters and Santa hats at the time, said Robert Davis, security manager of Red Ivy, a large Cleveland Browns bar located near the intersection of Clark and West Addison Street.

The victim, also in his 20s, walked out of the bathrom bleeding, holding his hands over his neck, Davis said. The man applied dry napkins to the wound until paramedics arrived, Davis said. He also suffered cuts on his chin and hands from pushing his alleged attacker away, police said.

"You see a lot of bad [things], but as far as initiating a wound, that was the worst [I've seen]," Davis said. "It was rough."

Bar security carried the alleged assailant out of the bathroom and lay him on the ground in an attempt to keep him still because he had the victim's blood all over him, Davis said. The man had been in the bar for about half an hour before the altercation. He seemed oblivious to what had happened and appeared to be "under the influence of more than alcohol," Davis said.

"You work at a bar, you know [when it's drugs]," he said.

Officers arrested Gregg Greaves, of the 4700 block of North Beacon Street, and charged him with a felony count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. He's scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.

The victim was treated at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

"Everybody was completely annihilated," Davis said as he shook his head. "You hate to see that happen, but it's the bar business."

Police could not confirm media reports that said the man defecated into his hands and threw feces onto the floor once he was in custody.

Did it last year and it was as awful as you'd expect. Gave up at at by noon and went to a buddies place on Clark. Had more fun just chilling on his balcony dumping cereal on drunks.

T-Box is stupid. These people pay some outrageous fee in order to "attend" - but then they still have to buy all of heir own drinks. They could just go the bars on heir own. All of the $$ (maybe$40-$45?) just goes in some guys pocket. I think his name is Festa.

Big with the frat boy crowd.

It was fun before the bars got absolutely shoulder to shoulder. Last year some even had lines.

Spanky, you do get a drawstring backpack, t-shirt and lanyard. So there's that.
