when you compare it to the disaster trade for Trent Richardson.

I believe I did hear some guy on television stating that the Colts offense is terrible for his style of running and they predicted with offseason adjustments he'll be better but how can you make a trade like that?

This could be an all-time bad trade.

I wonder if Cleveland knew how bad he really was or if they got lucky too.

They flashed Trent's stats on the screen, and I could not believe how bad he has been, like 2.4 yards/carry.

Eddie Lacey is pretty much the same guy and people are pushing him for ROY.

GD - why do you hate Lacey so much? Or is it an anti-'Bama thing?

Yes. He hasn't really proved anything yet, other than stats.

Yeah. The Browns have a long history of bad trades to move up. Remember the "steal" of Brady Quinn?

The RGIII trade is pretty cut and dry to me. If he wins a Superb Owl in Washington, it's a success. Anything less is a failure.

Keenan Allen should win ROY. But Lacy is at least an acceptable starting RB. Richardson is terrible at pretty much everything. To say they are the same guy is simply ignorant.

It was the right move at that time, it's just too bad Angelo couldn't surround him with better WRs than Williams and Hester. Of course we've seen how good to decent Cutler is with better weapons, as opposed to great, but the trade was still worth it IMO. It put the Bears back in the mix after they disappeared with Rex's final implosion and the defense's post-SB collapse. I think our views now will be colored with hindsight more than we'd like, but at the time you make that trade ten times out of ten.

Except it didn't really solve our quarterback problems, and it was expensive.

It seems like you are saying it was a good trade because it could have been a great trade. That isn't how it works. He's been mediocre at best as a whole, with periods of above average.

It's just not as terrible as other trades.

Next years Super Bowl would have been a better place to make this announcement!!

Of course, then they need to pay Jay $100 Mill, which they wont and he walks.

I am saying it was a good trade because it put the Bears back in the mix. If you wanted to move forward with prodigiously talented tandem of Grossman and Orton then that's fine.

It seems you want an elite QB, which I don't really have a problem with, but you also have a shot with a good to decent QB, which is what Cutler is. They got to the championship game in his second year, and were in the playoff hunt the past two seasons before collapsing due to injury or just not getting it done in general. Cutler is not the long term answer if the question concerns acquiring an elite QB, but he is not the Bears' biggest problem in any shape whatsoever.

Back in what mix? The four years prior to Cutler were better than the first four years of Cutler.
