I think he was playing good before he got hurt. I also think the Bears need not only help on defense but some depth,too. You can't have 2 good DT's and 3 stiffs backing them up. I just can't believe there are no journeyman LB's or D-Line guys to bring in and see if they have anything left. It worked for George Allen in Washington a long time ago.

"Talent" encompasses more than a strong arm. McCown, despite receiving no snaps in practice before Cutler was hurt, is running the offense smarter and better. There's little question about that.

And regarding arm quality, McCown throws a more accurate, more catchable ball. He hits receivers in stride way more often that Cutler, and they seem to thrive on the softer passes where they don't have to put all their concentration into stopping to catch a missile, and then try to regain their momentum.
