After hearing the commercials on The Score and talking to my "foodie" buddy who's been to the Burbank location, we went to the new place in Darien.

Solid food and great service. I had the Mexican Pot Roast. It was great pot roast, but not very Mexican. I will go back, for sure. Pretty good looking menu and decent price-point for the amount of food you get.

Some good "craft" beers, as well...

I would never order mexican pot roast from a place named Chuck's.

Just don't get the bbq there (if they still have it). Sweet or bland depending on the bite.

i agree, the BBQ to me is just ok although i have never had the ribs surprisingly enough
pulled pork, hot links, chicken is just ok...i do like the brisket though. they have a sandwich with brisket, jack cheese, peppers & onions that's very very good

i tend to just go there on days when there's a special i like; to me that's what he does best, the weird/quirky cajun and mexican dishes

pretty much everything on the menu is ridiculously bad for you too so i try not to go there too much. i shudder to think the amount of calories and fat in one of his cream soups

it is pretty tasty
over the years though they've cut a few corners, i got it too yesterday and they used to have jumbo sea scallops in there, now it's just the small bay scallops
and the shrimp used to be a lot bigger too
it's still very good though

One of my favorite suburban places -- haven't been to the Darien location yet. I remember their old location with about 7 parking spots and a line of people running out the door for carryout.

Would agree with previous posters -- his mexican inspired food is pretty much where it's at, although he does justice to some cajun stuff too. I really enjoy the chili -- it has a mexican take to it -- really unique.

Damn. Did they do a $300,000 monthly ad buy on The Score?

I'm going to fucking go, alright! It sounds good! Enough!

If I hear Zawaski talk about the cochinita pibil one more time, I'm gonna jam a screwdriver through my earhole.

I saw it on triple D as well. Guy referred to it as both "off the hook" and "off the chain."

I believe he also referred to Chuck's as "Real Deal Holyfield"
