I dunno. You better be damn sure about Eaton. His claim to fame was hitting .380 in the minors a couple years ago. In the majors he's been suck.

He's only played half a season worth of games and he hit .250

Not that terrible for a guy just starting out

Not that good either.

Then we're in agreement.

Can get the job done due to high effort style of play, but itsn’t ideal. Defensive ability more suited to corner OF. Grinder type that will do anything to get the job done

Eaton is a massive upgrade in centerfield. He's an athletic/high energy player that is real good defensively, has a strong arm and is a very good baserunner. Those are abilities the Sox desperately need especially in centerfield. I like Hector a lot but you have to give to get and the Sox are a much better team after this trade.

So this has to make the Sox the favorite in the Central with Detroit raising the white flag.

Top 50 prospects dont fall from trees - if they only had to give up Santiago, this is an awesome deal for the Sox.

3 team deal
2 teams improve
And the White Sox

At least Keyser Soze is happy.

I'm on board. You gotta take risks when you are that bad. Reminds me of a Larry Himes move, which is a good thing.

We'll see. I'm hoping for the best. No evidence he can hit in the big leagues.

I'd rather fail with young touted prospects than trot DeAza+Tekotte+Danks out there everyday. Right now, you'd have to guess we are going to see Viciedo/De Aza, Eaton, Garcia across the OF. I'm not saying it's goinf to be a great OF, but hopefully they can mature together and be a solid group.

I hope they can move DeAza or Viciedo. There is no reason to have Paulie, Dunn, Viciedo, and Abreu on the roster. 3 of those 4 is more than enough.

If I am rolling the dice on anyone, it is Viciedo - he had a down year in 2013 but was solid in 2012 and is only 25 years old. You are going to need a DH in 2015.

(CBS) The Winter Meetings are underway in Lake Buena Vista and the White Sox are discussing a three-team trade.

The proposed deal, according to multiple reports, would send left-hander Hector Santiago to the Angeles. In return, the White Sox would receive center fielder Adam Eaton from the Diamondbacks.

The Angels would also receive pitcher Tyler Skaggs, while sending third base slugger Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks.

A handful of minor league players are said to be involved in the deal.

The 25-year-old Eaton would seemingly solidify the White Sox’s woes at the top of the order. In parts of two seasons, Eaton has hit .254 with five home runs in 27 RBIs in Arizona.

Eaton has a .450 on-base percentage in the minor leagues.

There ya go, JORR

Yeah, I agree. Maybe I'm just higher on Santiago than most, but a young lefty with that nasty stuff, I just expected him to go in a higher profile deal. Maybe this guy will turn out to be great. Who knows? But I see him the same way I see all those great guys in the Cubs minor league system. Avisail Garcia was a little different. He had shown high level performance in critical big league games.

I hope the trade is contingent upon him keeping the mustache.

Randazzo is lovin it!

Wayne Randazzo ‏@WayneRandazzo 3h
Adam Eaton is very smart, can fly, great glove, surprising power. Rick Hahn nails this trade if it happens. #WhiteSox

Wayne Randazzo ‏@WayneRandazzo 3h
Only reason why Eaton is expendable to Arizona is because A.J. Pollock is just as good. No need for both.

Saw Eaton on daily basis w/ @Mobile_BayBears. Love this move for #WhiteSox. Eaton's a huge spark on offense/defense Didn't give up much.
