The Bears have ZERO chance at winning a super bowl this year whether it's Jay Cutler or Josh McCown.

Were probably looking at a first game playoff exit, if there is a post season at all.

So, ya know...

I think most are pretty reasonable about the Bears' chances. Getting in would be nice, winning a game would be awesome, and being eliminated is inevitable.

The passion of the Cutler Mick Cowen arguments seem to have an air of importance and urgency that is out of place.

Wrong. Sini already told us that the key to a championship is benching McCown, and then getting Cutler to play just as good as McCown.

Speak for yourselves. If the Bears make the playoffs I am a believer that anything can happen. The defense may string together a few good games. Briggs will be healthy too. For whatever it's worth the run defense was a lot better when he was healthy. Bears were barely giving up 100 yards a game.

And Ratliff has certainly made a difference

I don't like the whole "the Bears will never win the Super Bowl this year so it doesn't matter" thing. That's true of 95% of teams in every sport. And it's not even accurate. In the NFL, anything can happen if you just get into the playoffs.

I don't understand why we even watch if we just write everything off as a non-Championship year decision that doesn't matter. I don't like to think that way.

I don't know about that. The bigger issue is not Cutler vs McCown but Cutler himself, as in, do you keep him for next year? That's a weighty question, and I'm sure you'd agree that the Bears' chances next year and beyond with the current offensive core hinge on the quality of the guy behind center.

For me that's what it's about. McCown has proven that you don't have to pay a premium to get quality production in Trestman's system. Cutler isn't a system back either.

While I am all for 2014 Super Bowl (Ok the 2015 one)

There is no doubt they are a dog going into any Playoff game, but give me back Tillman, Briggs and Ratliff getting better...and a few rookies playing a little better, lets do it. Oh yeah, we wstill have Conte....ugh...

The Bears Off is getting to the upper echelon and they dont need to be at home to be really good. Saints, Lions, Falcons, The O Line has been really good , which allows for that running game, thus the Passing game.

Normally, I would totally agree with RPB, but even when I said lets focus on next season, it was with an effort of tossing the ball, going for high octane offense and anything can happen when you have offense.

chicago fans just have never had an offensive threat!

The Bears could win the Super Bowl this year when they get healthy.

Nobody out there is unbeatable.

Well if RPB says it, then it's true. They should just close up shop now.

As crazy as it sounds, I wonder if it's in Cutler's best interest (financially speaking) to win the Super Bowl this year. Pressure would be off ownership and they would go as cheap as they can. I don't see the McCaskeys giving Cutler a Flacco-like thank-you gift.

He would have more leverage and a lot of other teams willing to pay top dollar. I would be in his corner demanding they pay him too.

I think they would franchise him...still not a bad payday but I'm sure Cutler wants the huge bonus due to his injury history.

Unfortunately, I don't think they can get in.

Detroit's toughest remaining game is tomorrow night at home. Bears may need to win both remaining games, plus have help.

The Liedowns will find a way to mess it up.

No doubt that anyone that gets in the playoffs can win it all this year.

No but we are familiar with the Liedowns.

I think he was conservative and only predicted 15-1 this season.

it's just that the argument has taken on an air of "this is so important and urgent..."

Almost like people arguing about Grossman in 06 when they were on their way

Just seems a bit much for an average team

While there is no one dominant team (Sea maybe) I don't see The Bears beating any of the three good teams in the NFC (Car Sea SF) and I'm not sure they beat the lions or Packers
