Are you old enough to watch the 1985 Bears and remember it? (Not video taped, or betamaxed!)

My friend is married to a Honeybear. He has some stories about players hitting on his wife-to-be back in the day.

Back in the day after every game the players basically had a tailgate under the North stands, thats where they all parked. As a 11, 12 or 13 year old, we got an invite from McMahon. Players, coaches, honey bears, wives, were all there. I was kinda clueless and starstruck, but I cant begin to tell you how cool it was to be drinking a Moosehead opened by mcMahon, sitting next to the cooler and as he would say 'Give Horn a beer' and I got to open Beers for Horn!

I've got the official Super Bowl XX football signed by 40 players on the 1985 Bears 53 man roster. My old man would take me to appearances made by the players. Never paid for any autograph. Have all of the starters except for Willie Gault and Jim McMahon. Still trying to get those two. Gotta get McMahon quick cuz he's going senile. Got Walter Payton at a car dealership a few years after he retired. Which was good cuz he died.

In 1986, I was in the Navy on board a ship and the time zone was much different. The Super Bowl started @ 10 p.m. and we watched it live on the Armed Forces Television Network.

That's a cool story; glad you could drop in. I know some peeps in the Navy too, if anyone's keeping score. A couple of them are some real mixed cookies. It's crazy. Kids today...

Old enough to remember hearing the god damn song. Not old enough to remember watching the game if I even watched it.

Junior year of high school. I remember it well. I was at a party. Pats kicked the early field goal, I went out in the garage to have a smoke and a beer, came back and Butler had already tied it. The rout was on.

High school then. A high school friend of mine was / is a Miami dolphins fan. At the start of that season his grandma or somebody bought him tickets for the bears-dolphins game that year. I went with him and his dad and an uncle to witness the only loss of that season. That was a HUGE game at the time. Anyway...that weekend we ran into McMahon on the beach and shook hands and chatted with suhey and Payton in the hotel restaurant / bar. Pretty cool meeting the starting backfield of the 85 Bears.

Harold Washington was also there...we didn't meet or see him...but he was the jinx....not us. :D

It seemed anticlimactic after they actually won it. Payton was pouting in the locker room. You just knew it would never be that good again. Yeah, everyone figured they would win more than the one, but it was never going to be the same.

I remember getting lit up afterward at a bar called Windy City on Lincoln Avenue in the space where Big Bricks is now. It was fucking cold out. Nobody cared.

I was 3, and I effectively argued that the Fridge deserved that touchdown instead of Walter to my parents.

 Man, the negative impact of that Fridge TD was larger than we all truly understood.

Family friend was his furrier and made him this special jacket, fox fur with the head still on and the head was basically the hood, so it hung down the back.

Some of the veterans here might remember it because he wore it on the sidelines a few games when he didnt play.

Same family actually were wrestling promoters from a long time, way back! I will drop some names in the wrestling section

I remember Jimmy Mac played his ass off in that game and he hardly got credit. I felt that way at least.

I was 18. We had a party at my house. Got drunk as hell and after game we thought a great idea to brave the cold and head downtown. Got pulled aside by the cops and nearly arrested by the Picaso.
