I'm feeling really good about this game. Cutler has knocked off the rust and the Eagles have the 31st worst passing defense in the league. They made Cassel look like a competent QB throwing the ball to Jennings. The Bears have arguably the best group of WR's and RB in the NFL. The Bears defense hasn't been pretty this season but they have looked a lot better recently and getting back Briggs this week would be a major boost. With the playoffs on the line I'll take the experience and skill Cutler has over Foles. I would love if the Bears go into the game with a chance to win the division.

The eggs in my basket are that MN put 48 on these goofs and Briggs spies McCoy.

The Bears are still a punishing defense too. With Briggs back he will restore order and at the very least everyone will line up where they should be.

Cowboys win their game Sunday and it's possible the Eagles throw in the towel in the 2nd half.

You know, Nas, that that weird picture of Cutler in your avatar makes a striking resemblance to Sinic.

I agree, this one plays into Tresty nicely.

Viking only won because they throw a ton and they controlled the clock 36 mins to 24 mins. Nice mix. its Trestmans plan.

controlling the clock is every coaches plan, but its how they did it. jauron would just try to run off 9 minutes at a clip, no matter how it resulted, he felt that was a productive 9 mins! drove me crazy when he would say that!

Trest wants to run some clock, but as a byproduct of a good drive!

Gonna have to deal with my guy Foles. He is like Flacco, 6'6" and strong, sees the field well, 23 TD v only 2 pics. U of AZ guy so watch him a lot in college, always showed a good gun and 6'6" i figured he had a chance like Flacco and was just raw.

Sacked 4 times in Minn game. SHEA! Redemption!

I agree. This is probably a game that Trestman shines in.

It is. I'll take Cutler 10 out of 10 times in a nationally televised game that has playoff implications over Foles. It is my belief Foles will crack under pressure.

All this talk about the offense is fine, but Philly has the best RB in the NFC, and one of the hottest QBs as well. Foles has revived DeSean Jackson's career, and the only back better than McCoy this year is Jamal Charles. Both Foles and McCoy excel where the Bears are at their weakest: run defense, and long pass play coverage (safeties). If all systems are go for Philly, then it will be difficult for Cutler to keep pace. You can only force it to Marshall so many times in a 45-38-type game.

Briggs will be the key. Everyone forgets first part of this year he was a monster tackling backs behind the line.

Bears are only 3 point dogs in Vegas. Which means they think the game is even. Home field is worth 3 points. I would have though it would have been higher just thinking like Vegas thinks. Like 4 or 5. But it tells me that Vegas is trying to sucker the public on Philly money cuz they think the Bears will win.

I think the money will go on Philly and that line will be 3.5 or 4 by kickoff. Which is what Vegas wants.

Golden rule in line movements based on action. Go with the book, not the players.

Eagles are averaging more rushing yards than any team. It will be big to have Briggs back.

I like Briggs, but I'm taking McCoy here. This is by far the best and most effective back the Bears have faced all year. Plus McCoy is at the peak of his powers, while Briggs, if he plays, is on the way down and coming off an injury. McCoy will have at least one 70 yard + run this week.

But this is what I never understood. If one team is great at running the ball, and the other team sucks at stopping the run, which team really has the advantage? You could argue it's the team that can't stop the run. Since they never stop the run anyway, there's no premium in having a great RB to use against them. It's neutralized.

I see that but bears have given up 150 to a back and won already.

I don't think I understand your point. The team that can run effectively and at-will on their opponent has the advantage - if they have a smart coach. Smart coaches with the clear running advantage will engineer long drives and emphasize ball-control the whole game. You beat the other team into submission with the run, exhaust the D, and keep the opposing team's offense off the field. Think what the Chargers did to the Broncos the other day - Manning barely got on the field.

Bears are a public team. Right now the majority of plays are on them.

Forte is the best all around running back in the NFL and the Bears have the best offense in the NFL over the past few weeks. They just carved up a top 5 pass defense without Cutler at his best so you can imagine what may happen to the 31st and Cutler without the rust. The Eagles can't stop anyone and Foles hasn't exactly been lighting it up in the air. Jennings will take Jackson out of the game and a couple of solid hits on McCoy from the improved Bears defense will make him a non factor. Especially if Briggs returns. The Bears were barely giving up 100 yards on the ground when he was healthy. The addition of Ratliff has made a difference too. I think the Bears will win big.

I just mean the Bears give up 160 on the ground every week anyway, and have won 8 games doing it. So the idea of McCoy ripping off 160 or even 200 against them isn't something they haven't seen before. The Eagles could have Joe McCoy and still get 160.

I see your point, but that's why I added the bit about smart coaching. If you have the run advantage, and then you start throwing the ball, then you have a dumb coach. That's why the Chargers' won the other day: they ran, did it will, stuck with it, and succeeded in keeping Manning off the field. The Cowboys were running all over the Bears, but inexplicably went away from the run even though Murray could have went for 250. It makes no sense, but I guess smashmouth, ball-control type football isn't in vogue anymore, even for highly paid coaches who are paid to win and not paid to be flashy.

The plan should be to make Foles beat you. McCoy has opened up the passing game. If you stop him IMO Foles won't beat you. Too much pressure on the kid. He will make mistakes and the Bears defense will make him pay. I'm predicting 2 interceptions by Foles and at least a 3 touchdown and turnover free night from Cutler. Forte will also come out and want to prove to everyone that he is the best all around back in the NFL.

What did Forte do last week? Didn't he quietly become 2nd all-time bears all around yards behind payton? He will do his work.

I should probably shut my mouth about this game anyway. I have Foles in both my fantasy leagues and I am in the championship for both. That being said, I hope he throws for seven TDs again and loses to the Bears 49-52.

EDIT: I cannot do math.

C'mon man. Are you drunk?

In 11 games Foles has only thrown 2 picks.

The NFL's leading rusher will quit b/c a couple solid hits? Seriously?

Briggs is coming back from a nearly two month layoff. He's going to be OK. But players don't just jump right back into Pro Bowl form.
