Is it too late to modify your DB of the week post? There's a new thread about the Bears that should win in a landslide.

Eligible for next week, my meat absconding amigo.

They were down 21-0 before they were able to throw a 2nd pass.

I'd look some other places before Cutler.

So would you invest that kind of money into Cutler if he wasn't really the problem?

I'm not saying Cutler has been good. But there are lots of problems out there to be discussed.

Not to nitpick but I don't think being down 0-21 means much for a QB's ability to put points on the board. Not saying this is on Cutler, but in general, what you look for at 0-21 is an offense going no-huddle and marching down the field with a sense of urgency. The Bears have instead gone backwards, sometimes literally (safety).

Lots of meatball "our team sucks" comments in this thread. Despite the Bears sharting all over themselves tonight, they can still win their division next week. This is the modern day NFL. Happens to every team.

Cutler does absolutely suck though. No way Emery and Tresty trust their future to Jay.

But you do realize this team sucks? There is 0 on defense, trestman makes odd calls, ST sucks. It has been a completely wasted year I feel like.

McCown people will be happy because no way Cutler ends this game healthy if he keeps playing.

I don't think it's a wasted year. The offense has definitely made progress, and that's exactly why this game is so damn confusing. Things have progressively gotten better on offense, and then everything implodes tonight against a nonthreatening defense. A coach is supposed to help his team sustain that level of progress; hasn't happened tonight. I don't care if they put up 50 next week on GB, this game right here was the season. Win and you're in. They blew it.

i don't know if we're "McCown" people, but rather "good offense" people. I think you and I both missed that tonight.

No shit, Spaulding.

It's like some people can't admit that their team isn't really good. The trend is your friend.

They still have no identity. I expected them to at least establish themselves on offense a little and I don't think they do that. They sure can't do it consistently and against bad teams. What do you have in this team? 3 good WRs and Forte (and some argue that), we'll still see about the line.

The fact that since then the Bears haven't got past 10 hasn't exactly absolved him, though. The above-posted list notwithstanding, Cutler sure hasn't done anything to spark the offense - if he's the future franchise QB, I would hope he would show some ability to do so.
