would you say they have a "mediocre" defense? I'd say its historically bad.

And they wouldn't have made the Jeffery or Long pick and they'd have a a really bad o line.

One more McCown series like that and sports radio will be more listenable this week.

Jeffery's first coach was Lovie. Marshall was here too.

Yeah it should've been on the first drive of the game to put his team in a hole right off the bat.

Wow, wtf. I don't know if I've ever seen a worse defensive performance by a Bear team.

Let Cutler walk, keep McCown as the bridge. Won't win anything without a serviceable defense.

Clean house of all coaches too. Hester can go with them.

Lovie would have been looking for that safety he always wanted or another DL. I don't think he was aware he was also in charge of the offense. He ignored it for a decade.

This is the point in the Super Bowl Champion Year in Review video where the slo-mo kicks in and the music gets sad.

Yeah, stupid Lovie. Bears don't need a Safety or a DL. Ones we got are doing great. :?

So you think Long and Jeffery would have been drafted had Lovie been head coach? I'm not sure that's true.

It would make my Holiday weekend complete if the Pack hang 50 on these losers at home.

This Bears franchise deserves nothing more than to go out as they truly are.

losers.

Offense kept you in games this year not the defense. They are old, ouchy, and aside from the stars (Url, Harris/Peppers, Tillman, Briggs) have always been average to below average. Url, and Tillman can't perform at the level they used to. This was inevitable.

Kids...calm down. It's one fucking game. The Bears are rebuilding and are remaining competitive while doing so. You can't judge a team based on one game, but rather the entire season. Every team gets blown out occasionally. The new Bears regime is off to a great start in year one and will continue to improve as the players get comfortable with Trestys system. I do hope they launch Mel Tucker though.

This Eagles team is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I hope they beat Dallas, make the playoffs and win the Super Bowl.

I think the point is that Jeffery was not a Lovie endorsed pick. The new GM realized they needed offensive help. And I don't buy the story that Lovie wasn't involved on draft day.

Okay, so it's okay for the Bears to go 500 in the first year of a new coach's system, but as for the other team with a new coach and new system - the Eagles, you expect that they win the Super Bowl? Why not expect that out of the Bears then?

What does this fun little fact have to do with anything? Has Jeffery come out and said "You know Coach Smith taught me everything I know about football and I owe everything I am to him?" I'm going to go with a solid NO. Has Lovie ever developed any offensive player?

That little fact shows how clueless you are about things. You stated Jeffery wouldn't have been drafted if Lovie was the coach when Lovie was the coach when drafted

But nice trying covering.

The Bears have not shown any competence in recent years (ahem decades) that would lead me to believe they can put together a team that will go to a SB and win it.

Yay, they have a CFL coach with a mediocre at best QB in Cutler! They SHOULD have been rebuilding the Defense over the last few years but didn't and now they are reaping what they've sown. Old, bad and ouchy.

This Bears team is almost as big of a disappointment as the Cubs. They've won one fucking SB in almost 30 years. This from a charter franchise no less.

Listen, keep drinking the orange and blue Kool Aid and enjoy yourself. I mean no ill will against you but you will be sorely disappointed in investing anything in this shoddy organization. I learned years ago to look at this team with a stink-eye because they are more inclined to fail than succeed.
